I said it while i was there that should have been a PS. The guy next to me seemed dumbfounded that you can even get a PS that way. But i guess that's the caliber of fans we'll see now at the games.

I was also completely disappointed in the lower bowl. I was on the bridge in the corner (which has awesome views!! Section 317) and looked down in the 3rd and the lower bowl was empty from the suits leaving. I know it's only November but that really concerns me

this is the way it's going to be forever

I was at the Jets game with corporate seats a couple of weeks back, free food in the club and all that and I didn't spend more than a quarter in my actual seats either.

I don't think people are leaving, there are just perks that come with those seats that go beyond sitting in your seat

now, I would never take my eyes off the ice in a hockey game, but, that's the reality with these new stadiums and the refurb MSG

Prudential Center is like that too. Sight lines are great, heard the club seats and what are great, but that building is always empty. It's odd.

Yeah because the french officials don't do their job correctly. Also the Rangers don't have the best of luck when dealing with players who have eye injuries.

McDonagh doesn't get injured, he just injures other Rangers.

The Barclays Center is brutal. Sight lines are terrible and the stadiums about 25% filled despite tickets going for $6 a pop against the Lightning.

The average attendance of 75% has to be a lie. There's no way they've averaged close to that if that Lightning game was any hint.

How the (frank) am I supposed to un-jinx this poop.

(frank)...

Ranger posters are saying the same poop about there team destroying the Oilers. Evens out. Should be a good game. We already know Talbot and Mc David will come to play it is the rest of the teams turn to show up. Looking at Nuge Eberle Leon. Crash the net get a rebound. Don't kill the cycle Ebs.

Staple went back a bunch of years and pulled the attendance numbers. They're not off pace for any of the last couple seasons.

Also, the sightlines are hardly terrible as long as you're not in one of those garbage obstructed-view seats.

It's a goofy arena with terrible ice and it's definitely not a good situation, but it's not nearly as bad as most people make it out to be.

And now, a few words about #Isles attendance. Looked at the early-season schedule this season and the past 3, here's what we have...

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday Nov 1
#Isles are averaging 11,936 last five home dates, excluding opening-night sellout, this season. That's 75.6% of capacity.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday Nov 1
In 15-16, first season at Barclays, #Isles averaged 11,582 from home games 2-7, 73.3% of capacity.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday Nov 1
In 14-15, final season at Nassau Coliseum, #Isles averaged 12,528 in home games 2-7, 77.5% of capacity.

Arthur Staple ‏@StapeNewsday Nov 1
In 13-14, #Isles averaged 11,660 in home games 2-7, 72.1% of capacity.

Would like to see Lucic or Kassian fight tonight. Rangers have anyone to drop em with? They better not let someone push around Mc David like Kadri did. Hate that guy but he is good at drawing penalties and plays best when he is a pest.

Right, but what I'm saying is that can't be right. Unless they measure it by "tickets sold" rather than people that were actually in attendance.

But that's how everyone measures it, so yea it's definitely skewed a bit but I don't know any professional sports teams that have people standing at the gate with clickers counting how many people come in the door.

Every person that enters the game has their ticket scanned. They can very easily look up how many tickets were scanned I assume.

I guess, but still...nobody does it as far as I know. I'm pretty sure all reported attendance numbers are based off of sales not actual bodies in the door.
