Streit has 3 goals 8 pts in 11 games.

Does he have any value right now?

Just curious with Del Zotto coing back and a lot of teams with injuries.

Just changing it up from Vandevelde.

- J35Bacher

He certainly has value. Veteran D with a good start, last year of his contract. Could be a nice addition to a team that wants to make a push (Oilers, Jets, Blues)

I think they can get a 2nd + late round pick for him

Exactly. Franking dudes here need to give it a rest. CV is on the roster and is going to suit up every night. Plus he's not hurting them. He goes out there, does his job, and sits down. Accept it and move on.

Well, uhhhh, you see the problem is that he does hurt them.

Unless Hexy gets a return similar to what he got for Coburn from TB, I don't see Streit going anywhere. He is wearing the 'A'. Also, he is pretty important at the point on the PP. Maybe at the trade deadline that might changes assuming Ghost and MDZ are healthy. Also, more importantly to see how far Provorov has progressed. If he settles in and becomes more consistent through Christmas, then moving Streit would be easier.

EDM is intriguing.

I could see Streit and Del Zotto as nice pieces for them.

Yeah I see no reason to trade him now. Wait until after Christmas and see if any teams are calling around

I do.

Age.
Had tough injury last season.
Don't think production will last.

I think I would try to move him sooner rather than later.

You can probably get a better return for him as the season progresses.

The Flyers should trade Streit if they have the opportunity

As long as he continues to produce. Even with him not really looking great but still putting up some points he could have interest.

I worry he gets hurt or he just decline like Kimmo did.

I think Laughton is destined to be sent to LV once he's cleared.
- jmatchett383

I think Laughton has shown nothing since Niskanen hit him in the head. I don't think there is any two ways about it, he's the odd man out.

I'm sure they could. I'm not sure the return would be worth it. The could probably do Streit for a 7th. If not, they could add to the deal, like including Provorov and retaining 1/2 of Streit's salary. Not sure it's worth it, though.

isn't "conditioning" a limited time trip to the A?
- dragonoffrost

well it wouldn't have to be called conditioning per se because he is waiver exempt. i was just making the point that i would send him down to work on his game.

I think the hesitation for Streit is tied to Provorov somewhat. They want to make the playoffs and I believe the organization Provorov can be that anchor on the blue line in the future. At this point, Streit helps reduce the responsibilities of Provorov at even strength and PP. Hopefully, as Provorov progresses he evolves into that 20 minute a night dman. Also, unlike other sports, leadership matters in hockey. I think the 'A' carries a lot wait. Streit isn't untouchable, but it's going to cost more then just a 2nd rounder and something else, IMO.

Streit and Weal for a 5th and a new Weal

I think they'd only have to retain salary in order to make it worth it for another team, probably don't need to add a player.

Do you think a 5th for Streit is worth making the trade? For AMac I would, only because of the term left. I wouldn't for Streit.

I expect the return that Toronto got for Kaberle at minimum, since he was less than a shell of his former self.

Hell no

Anything less than a 2nd is not worth it, IMHO!

He is already playing about 20 minutes a night.

Also he looked better with Manning compared to Streit. I understand Streit and the A but I also feel that the leadership thing is somewhat overrated at times.

On the list of issues with this team right now, CV is way down the list. So far down, imho, as to not even warrant discussion.

Honestly I just picked a random number and threw in Weal for fun.

Kimmo got 2 seconds (or a 2nd and 4th) without even playing so...no, IMHO I think he could get more than a 5th rounder

Personally based on the current roster and his play up until being hurt I think its valid to send him down.

In that case, since then they can trade him, they should take a 5th-7th rounder???
