I imagine any number of reasons. For one thing he was negotiating from a position of strength at the time. That and he could swap out bailey for a different prospect to make the deal work (compher, probably).

They dont have that kind of warchest anymore but they do really need a d-man. If it has to be bailey that might better suit us long term than perhaps moving our top pick

Its just painful to watch sometimes. If they had a second guy there that could make that pass you could see more offensive shifts going the other way instead of meaningless dump ins or icings.

He was not moving Bailey, he told teams no more then one time and people continue to overvalue Trouba, just like the Jets are doing.

I just don't value Trouba as much as others.

Quick question hockey fans...I'm looking in to getting tickets for my family the night before thanksgiving. Does anyone know if Eichel is expected back by that time...ankles are 6 to 8 weeks but I'm not sure if they said he would need any extra time for pt. Thanks in advance!

I cant see them rushing him either way. dont want to risk anything with your star. But the last report about when his boot came off coincides with the usual grade 2 high ankle sprain timeline so mid december isnt a stretch.
