Boychuk. Team up tight to the Cap and had to make a move. 2 2nds is fairly solid for a guy with his back up against the wall that way. Definite loss for PC, but that is more about Cap issues.

The 4mill+ per for Talbot was probably one of the bigger risks (Hall/Larsson trade is up there as well, but so far, it has been paying dividends) during his tenure as an Edmonton Oilers GM. If that went bad, oh my... But as you said, F/A drives everything up.

Futurewise, we should be in good shape. One thing to note is the notion of whether or not McDavid will take a discount. 9m vs 12m is quite a difference and I'm certain that it will be the difference between being cap-strapped and having wiggle room.

As for Ebs, I don't see him leaving Edmonton to be honest. I think he might be a one club player. If he were to leave, I don't think he will leave via F/A at the very least. It would have to be through trade.

The majority of us understood that the trade was not in Edm's favour, and wished that even a 2nd round pick was returned, but could see that it was the price that was to be paid. There was no other better deal. it was a hockey trade that made both teams better.

Unfortunately iggy was not willing to see that and trolled these boards hard and long just female doging and griping.

Just to be clear, I don't hate iggy. He isn't an idiot, he just started to take it too far.

As for shaky record in Bos, you mean the Seguin trade where his hands were tied into making a deal to unload him, based off of the wishes of the team as a whole, not just him.

If not that then please give other examples.

THe Seguin trade happened on his watch, and for a poop return. He doesnt get a free pass because his boss wanted him gone. Also, the Bruins were in severe cap trouble, and are only doing ok now because they moved Lucic and Loui left town.
