Only in Oiler-ville can the team do a complete turnaround and there be so many thoroughly unhappy people with the progress shown.

Totally different team from previous years boys.
Not guaranteeing playoffs or long term success, but this team can hang in those defensive / low scoring / boring games now. And that's how you win in this league more often than not.

And Larsson is a really fuking good


Also- way too many oiler fans at the game last night. It was almost 50-50. It's like Connor tripled the teams popularity overnight. I say fuk em. Stay off my island if you weren't here through the hard times

We disagree often, But i value his posting cause imo he's an intelligent guy and understands the game.
and that's few and far between on hockeybuzz imo.

Exactly. There will be a lot of bandwagoners starting to show up. I bet they couldn't even name who we drafted in the 2010 lottery draft...

But yeah, Larsson has been a beast imo. He is starting to get really comfy playing with Klefbom and he is starting to find his place in McLellan's system. Not only that, but the thing I love about the klefbom-Larsson combo is that both can play good defense and good transitional offense (Klefbom imo is better offensively, but Larsson is better defensively). Lastly, Larsson still has a lot of room to grow and develop his offensive game. You can tell that he still plays a highly defensively sound game that involves not that much risk since that is the playing style he has learned and adapted to in NJ. I believe that if he tweaks his style of play just a little bit, he could grow his offensive game by a good margin, especially transitionally.

He is one angry guy.
He is intelligent, that I can tell, but he is such a doucheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. He passes the Pauly D metrics when it comes to measuring how douchy you are.
He can be quite funny and interesting at some points, but he can also be a so frustrating to deal with.

But yeah, there are barely any intelligent people on hockeybuzz.

There is always an excuse to complain.

No moves/ bad moves;
Bad Contracts/ Not Signing guys;
Not Able to Compete/ Weak Schedule
Terrible Numbers/ Unsustainable Numbers

This team, by eye because I don't watch the fancy stats, is better and more balanced. Of that there is no doubt, no debate.

It sure frustrates me that there were plenty of guys were hating so hard in the off season and now that the team has finally started and is having success they cannot even give up and enjoy. Instead they look for something else to cling onto so they feel they are right.

What will the next excuse be if the Oilers come out of November with a positive record?
