After watching it a few times, his feet leave the ice & it's a hit to the head, 2 games in isolation seems about right, players have to start learning, we need to get these hits out of the game.
- Jrw10

You need to read up on what constitutes feet leaving the ice. His front foot is on the ice through the whole hit.. you can even see snow fly from his skate as he makes contact with Girardi. With any hit your skates tend to come up off the ice a little bit after contact. Which is exactly what happened here. He didn't jump or launch into Girardi which is what they look for in "feet leaving the ice."

Oh gaaaaaawd I almost forgot about that one. That's explains the Pasta ban then. How old are Quintal's kids? Maybe Sweeney can draft one.

the problem is the DOPS lack of consistency. It is utter ridiculous. you see the same hits league wide with some resulting in suspensions and some not. Some are penalties and some are not (obviously the officiating, not the DOPS on that). you will see one guy get one game and another guy get 3 for the same hit. its maddening.

Yup, that Kulikov hit on Vora the other day was pretty much the same hit, if not a bit worse. More clear head contact. Kulikov, a repeat offender, gets nothing. Pasta who has never done anything like this gets 2 games for a more tame hit. Just doesnt make any (frank)in sense.

Hmmmm. Was thinking more along the lines of Gudas or MDZ. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd too if needed.

I'd offer Sweeney Streit and a 3rd and see what happens

To be realistic, so besides Ghost and Provorov. It would be one your higher D prospects. Gudas is a knuckle dragging piece of poop and MDZ is just OK. we plenty of just OK defenseman already.

I just would rather so many other teams to trade with. Fowler, shat, dumba, oel, klingberg.

Someone that will make an instant impact. Spooner a first and morrow or something for a #2 dman

Well the question was posed for a deal with Philly. Spooner also doesn't constitute anyone you've listed. Seriously he is in the conversation for OEL, ShattenKirk or Klingberg? I would be inclined to disagree.

With Minny in win now mode I doubt Dumba is up for discussion. That really leaves Fowler who could realistically be a cap casualty in Anaheim. So maybe Spooner plus would get the conversation started, maybe.

Lastly, Spooner is regarded as a potential top 6 forward. He has played consistent enough to warrant that let alone anything above?

I think Spooner at least starts a conversation about some of the guys.
Not saying OEL etc. are available, but we need a young puck moving forward, probably out of the west conference. Spooner would play well in Arizona with the young quick talent. And I think Arizona would move him with some of the good D prospects. And they have cap space to take back a salary. Maybe Spooner, a first, Mcquaid, and a decent prospect.

The whole Fowlier/Trouba thing is just getting old, so maybe talking about some others will spark Ek to have a new rumor?

Those lines are looking pretty rough for tonight. Will be interesting to get a first look at Kuraly, but it seriously feels like they're rolling out a preseason lineup with half AHL guys.
