Saying they're equal because they both won cups with stacked teams.

edit: maybe you weren't saying they were equal. If that's the case disregard that message lol

- chilliard77

Yeah, I'm not saying that at all, just saying that Bylsma gets 0 credit for having a stacked team, yet it's never mentioned for Babcock. If Babcock had like 4 Cups, then, sure, but he too only had one with a superior team top to bottom.

I looked at that as well when I found out, doesn't look like it will work IMO.
- SABRES 89

Unless they want to part with Cody Eakin, which I doubt. And he's on IR, not sure of his injury situation.

Found something out about 2 nights ago but with the blog being tense the last few days I didn't say anything. The Stars called about Ennis due to the injuries they have, don't know any other names coming or going or if this will move forward.
- SABRES 89

I figured there would eventually be some interest. My guess is a surplus they can live without or a player who is really close in the AHL

They could put Hemsky on LTIR

This

We may still have to retain a bit though

If they are in major trouble after the 20 game mark Murray should dismiss Bylsma, but he won't. He could appoint Terry Murray as interim HC for the balance of the season.
- mhp

I don't agree with that
But I do understand ppl being upset at the slow start

Bylsma said around 95pts this year,
And I think that's reasonable

The injury to Eichel obviously hurts too

Let's see how this plays out

I just looked and they have 4 guys on IR right now; Hemsky, Sharp, Eakin and Hudler. No wonder they asked about Ennis.

I could see Brett Ritchie coming back. Seems like a Murray kind of guy, slow but hard hitting.

I don't think it's too late to be fixed, but it does need to be fixed. I hope Murray recognizes that.
- chilliard77

I think it will ultimately be fixed but it will probably take a couple more years to fully fix it. Franson will be gone after this year (unless we resign for some insane reason), Guhle will need at least a year of seasoning at the NHL level, Bogosian is stuck here till 2020 unless we buy out (thats close to a $2 million cap hit if we do), Gorges wont be gone till the end of the 2017-2018 season, Nelson is a question mark.

Basically, unless we are able to trade some of these guys, and I do not see that happening, the defense will take time to change.

I hate to say this but Bylsma is not the guy that should be coaching this team, John Tortorella is, he's fiery and doesn't take on crap from anyone. Doesn't matter who you are, how much you make or if you wear a letter, bring it every night and you play. Disco Dan isn't that type of coach, he is very reserved.

Have you watched the last 2 games? They have been awful. IMO it falls to some degree on the HC. But having said that Murray will not fire Bylsma.

Bylsma had numerous top 2 picks to be fair. I don't even know if Mike had a 1st rounder to work with.
- walshyleafsfan

Babcock took over Scotty Bowman's team though. He didn't draft Lidstrom or Datsyuk or Zetterberg. I know there was at least one guy between them, but all the super high end guys were all Bowman's picks. Like when John Gruden went to Tampa, he took over Tony Dungy's team and won with it. Although the same could be said for Bill Callahan taking over Gruden's Oakland team and taking them to the Super Bowl against Gruden in Tampa.

My point is if Bylsma gets no credit for the players he had Babcock shouldn't either. They both had stacked teams at the same time, both won a Cup against each other in back to back years. Either Bylsma isn't getting enough credit or Babcock is getting too much.

He likes big players and Ennis is not that, not saying Ennis is a bad player but just maybe it's time for him to move on. That can be said for a few more players as well.

I think Bogosian can be traded. There's still GMs in the league that value that kind of play. Get Jim Benning on the phone lol

I halfway agree. I still think Ennis has some chance of figuring it out. He's looked good the last few games.

That's why I don't have 100% faith in Murray right now. Whether someones a stat guy or an eye test guy they can see he isn't playing the level he's supposed to be.

There is a risk with Ennis and does Murray want to keep him or move him for a pick or a young player. IMO moving him makes sense and more of that is we can move his contract.

I have always liked Ennis, he seemed to be one of the only players that gave 100% effort when the Sabres finished last in consecutive years. He played with little talent on his lines and still produced.

Yeah, there's just other guys that should be on the dumping list before Ennis
