It's getting to the point where I really feel like I need to see this team without Gardiner and Bozak on it. Seeing either player bothers me. And as a bonus the ghost of Honest Hockey can be put to rest.

I admittedly don't know A LOT about Gardiner, but the Pens' system seems to work well for these type of guys.

You look at Daley and Schultz, players not known for their defensive prowess, yet Sully gets them to play in a manner to the fits the team's system.

Gardiner is a top 5 Dman across the league....according to Tanner!

Trade 'em all (JVR, Gardiner, Bozak), get some D help or young D prospects, or picks.
These are tradeable assets whose value is only going to decrease

The Rangers just put Dylan McIlrath on waivers this afternoon. You guys could do worse than to add him to the fold. Not a superstar and not too quick, but more poised and dependable than some of the guys you're dressing now. And at $800k/yr.
