Got a feeling Fowler won't end the season as a duck. Could see the Devils trading a pick for him. With the rise of Zacha, they're cooking with fire up in Jersey. They're an improved top 4 defensive unit away from being competant. - Victoro311
I will be interested to see what Fowler goes for. Right now, the other teams have the leverage as the Ducks HAVE to unload him or face some type of penalty. I don't know if its a fine or a loss of a pick. People probably have different views on what his true worth is, but right now teams will not have to pay top dollar for him. They probably can get him for a 45 cent return. |

They can also waive a couple - Bieska & Stoner I've seen mentioned. So the question will be whether the chance of losing someone for nothing outweighs keeping Fowler??
Also going to be interesting seeing Mcilrath from the Rags get picked up - or not? |

They have their top line set for years with Hall and Zacha. Filling out a second line shouldn't be super difficult. Putting a legit top 4 together at this juncture is more important than adding more skill forwards. - Victoro311
By competent you mean a 7/8 seed. Hall and Zacha are good, but they aren't #1 forwards on contenders. And they have no way of landing a #1D from what I see. Only thing they have is a stud goalie. But NJD is probably fine being a bottom tier playoff team. |

I'm not sure what NJD has to offer. I wouldn't give up their #1 pick for fowler unless they can top 10 protect it for 2 years. I don't view Fowler as elite. Maybe a really good 2nd pairing guy. |

Nice signing for the Ducks, lucky having a couple of guys on LTIR though??? - Aussiepenguin
Silver lining for them. The Despres concussion sounds very serious and Thompson has a ruptured Achilles tendon. So they should have a couple months at least to work it out. |

He's so much fun to watch when he has games like this. It's too bad his consistency night in and out isn't always there. |

If you mean the Devils aren't contenders yet, I agree. If you are saying Hall isn't a #1 forward, I'm astounded. |

Yeah, but most goalies don't have that consistency. Unless your Price or Hank. |
