I almost tend to agree. Looking at the Leafs team stats, they're 6th on the PP. Not sure that's one of the areas that needs to be shored up.

If the PP is working regardless, keep your best D man off of it and give him more even strength and PK minutes.

The team stats look good across the board right now except for GA and Ws.

I think that he recognizes just how shallow this defense corps is - as time goes on and we get more players who can be relied on the protect leads and pull their weight then he can start to use Rielly better.

Essentially he doesn't want Rielly to have to deal with 25-30 mins a night.
