What are your thoughts on Virtanen playing in Utica? - CanuckDon
i stated them last game that sending him to Utica does not mean he'll receive anymore icetime without earning it , so potentially he could be down there with less veteran supervision playing the same role as here.
you can't just send him there and gift him minutes . what would that show the other players ? |

I truly believe Pirri would have been the better option of all the Kane talk.
And yes - Brouwer would have been great for JV - plays the exact kinda game JV should aspire to play. What better of a mentor??!!
in other news....
Boeser is now up to 12 pts (6g6A) in 5 gms as UND is 5-0 now after the weekend.
hope he transitions in as well as Stetcher did - man he looked good in his first game - Brooks_Light
Boeser is going to be the proper version of Ryan Kesler without the bullpoop. |

Are you kidding? Lemmings are known for two things. Following supreme leader (Vantel Lemming) and 100 mammal jerk circles |

The issue really isn't the minutes...it's finding players on Utica that could complement JV's game. Horvat went down on a conditioning stint (and got no points) and came back up and took care of our 4th line that 1st season under WD. Hoping for something similar with JV but I have a feeling he is going to be down there longer than two weeks which is fine. |

developement and minutes played has been beaten to death for days, i still don't think he has lost his spot on the team, he just hasn't earned a promotion either |

While bringing a winning team and winning atmosphere in the AHL is important, you have to admit that the NHL GM must have pull and influence on what happens in the farm. You really think that if Jake goes down, he will see 4th line minutes and similar to what he is getting now? Come on man. Why did Stecher get sent down to Utica and play top line minutes in his first few games with Pedan? Subban being bumped to 2nd pairing. |

I can't stand Botchford but he is right...This team needs to stop giving 95% of the opportunities to the Sedin's. The kids need more Offensive zone starts and PP time. Perhaps if Bo, JV and Sven score a few goals they will get some confidence. - CanuckDon
It is Bo's team now. The Sedins probably suck in their own end because they don't even have to practice getting out of it. Stupid to even limit the abilities of great players.
I really think WD has this team doing all the wrong things. Sedins high up on the walls on the PP where shooters should be. Sedins aren't shooters.
Loui likes to play down low. Do they really need 3 down low players on the same PP.
The D isn't scoring for a second straight season. Edler and Larsen. Hutton and now stecher on the backend firing away. If anything it will open up the down low to allow the sedins more room. |

Apparently it's a fetish thing. Management and teammates are doing an intervention before practise, today. |

yeah he's definitely the most exciting prospect we have and continues to look better and better.
Juolevi, Mackenzie, Brisbois, Lockwood, Zhukenov, Gaudetter and Neill are all having great years so far also. |

because Stecher played his way onto the big club in training camp but due to waiver issues the club chose to send him down instead of risking an asset.
and i do believe Green has control on the team and would not accept Benning telling him who to play and where without merit.
and i do not believe Benning would , he believes in team development to much in my opinion |

I don't think he has lost his spot, if that spot is bottom 6 winger. I just fear the longer he fights to stay in the lineup that low, the less likely he will better his offensive skills.
That being said, if he was playing like he did last year, skating hard and hitting guys, I would be full on supporting a promotion for opportunity. He doesnt seem to have the same energy level |

willie on JV
Willie sounded on point and was actually probably he best interview.
About jake
Have talked numerous times with jake about where they need him to be. Told him at the end of last season where they wanted him to be , but he Wasnt quite there when camp started.
No unusual for a player to feel the way he does about ice time. Says every player wants more. Feels jake" has all the tools.""He has power , a great shot , goes to the net, but obvously if he was doing those things right now , he would be playing up the lineup."
Its not wrong for him to feel the way he does
Baer had the same situation. They gave him more when he showed them more.
Jake needs to push harder
Was very respectful when saying all this. Was very complimentary about jake and understanding.
Thinks he has all the tools to be a top 9 or 6 forward. Doesnt want him to be a 4th line player. He thinks its good he doesnt want to be. When he starts pushing himself more he will play more. |
