I truly believe Pirri would have been the better option of all the Kane talk.
And yes - Brouwer would have been great for JV - plays the exact kinda game JV should aspire to play. What better of a mentor??!!
in other news....
Boeser is now up to 12 pts (6g6A) in 5 gms as UND is 5-0 now after the weekend.
hope he transitions in as well as Stetcher did - man he looked good in his first game - Brooks_Light
Yup there was no reason JB shouldnt of took a chance on pirri especially with how much pirri makes.
Boeser is doing great! and they said he would regress due to no longer playing with smaltz.

Kaptaan while I commend you for trying to be a peacekeeper here, you have to make note of the history of their posts. PuckShack I have actually never had an issue with at all, not quite sure where this is coming from but you have to look at the common denominator sometimes. When people tell other people they are flat out wrong for having a different opinion on something that no one holds any ground on decision making then people often get a bit testy lol. "I think Virtanen needs to go to the AHL, he needs to play 20 + min....... " - "WRONG, YOU IDIOT". People don't take kindly lol - Codes1087
Thanks for that...
I agree with your overall post... i've been guilty of over reacting many times myself... |

Who needs trolls when we have each other. - Marwood
yeah, not sure why as Nux fans we seem to attack each other here on the board in a somewhat factionalized way....
I think the peaceful coexistence that now exists between yourself and I could be a model for resolving conflict... although it came after sustained attack by leafs fans on this blog. |

I wonder who Anaheim is going to trade...

Some folks get a little carried away, most of us learn to bury the hatchet and move on. Funny how a sustained troll fest can bring most of us together. It's all good for sh*ts & giggles.

From what I have seen....it's because when ppl disagree with their opinions they can't let it go. They keep arguing (discussing) their view hoping to change the persons mind and it eventually pisses ppl off.
I think a lot of this extends from the point of views on JV. What we all have to remember is the NHL is not a development league, it's a win league. And unfortunately JV is just not ready. |

the best hockey talks on this board are often from people disagreeing on things, and it GENERALLY leads to really good dialogue back and forth with some good points. It is when people actually take it personally and slam their face against the keyboard and start questioning the other persons motives/if they are even a real fan when things get ugly. |

I pretty much went from page 6 - 19 and am not willing to go back to read the verbal poop of insults but I am sure it was completely unjustified. There are not a lot of times where personal insults and rage are actually justified in here so then there is that. People shouldn't come here angry, or leave angry, this is a place to shoot-the-poop and talk Hockey. |

I do agree that you can have good discussions if you are open minded to accept someone else's opinion. And you are right it comes down to taking it personal and once it gets personal there is no going back. |

Don't know who has or hasn't read it yet. For the first time in a while, he may actually be onto something.
I have been on the fire WD train for a while now. It's time to stop spoon feeding the Sedins. They're big boys if they can't handle themselves in their own zone they probably should retire.
Also explains why WD put Bo on the 4th line for that game. No sense in having Baertschi or anyone with any skill on his line if he is just going to have him start every shift in the D-zone.
It's time to get back to rolling 4 lines and worrying less about who starts in what zone. At critical times in the game maybe put out Bo to win a faceoff.

i think they need Bo and Sutter to take the defensive faceoffs since the Sedins aren't the best in the defensive zone.
I agree that Bo and Baertschi should get a fair shot at starting in the offensive zone. they should distribute those faceoffs and zone starts more evenly... it's a good problem that Bo and Sutter are 3 zone players. |

This may be the most ill-informed post of the evening. "One dimensional" like Brett Hull? Like "Holmstrom"? Like a myriad of other players that were "one dimensional"?
A hockey team is a "TEAM", not a bunch of Steve Yzermans or Joe Sakics. For every all round player (BTW we have one named Bo Horvat) you have a TEAM of complementary players.
Not all players need to be utility knives. - PuckShack
my bad for wanting more from our 6th overall pick! Was Bertuzzi a North/South guy? You bet he was, went straight through guys, but he also did PP, had good board play, was sound defensively. If JV can replicate even a portion of Bertuzzi, I would be a happy guy |

If he has a low Hockey IQ as you say then how can you expect him to learn this and apply it at the NHL level. The point that was made is JV has a certain skill set which is rare for this team .... trying to make him into other plug and play players won't work... his assets won't shine unless he bonds and develops with the right limemates. You can't race a tank around the Indy 500 but you sure want to use it in a crash derby... put him where he can succeed otherwise he's a waste of an asset and talent... - Nuck4U
(frank) me, the AHL is a necessary step in some instances.
A kid can graduate from school to be a doctor but they don't throw them into the ER room to start diagnosing emergency patients. They have all the skills and knowledge to do the job, but they don't put them there because that pace is extremely fast, so they start out slow in clinics. Think of the AHL as that. JV has all the physical tools to perform but needs to take it slower before he is experienced enough to recognize situations at the higher speed
There are a million other analogies I can tell you to paint a picture that you can't just start doing things at the NHL level and magically learn them, thats why you can't just throw any 18 year old hockey player on the ice and say "well he'll figure it out, better he learn it here than anywhere else" and then just "make" an NHL all star |

There is no point trying to convince this kid. He knows more than anyone in regards to proper development and the AHL is obviously a "C league" in his eyes.

Sounds like a frustrated player not self entitled that isn't fair to the kid ... he's got to learn a few things and mature no doubt but he's not an egocentric wiener either - Nuck4U
