Anyone thinking that Pulj is going to end up in the AHL before G9?

He isn't allowed to go to the minors last time I checked.

If Pulj does end up in the AHL, I wonder who McLellan has in mind to fill his spot.

Puljujarvi played in Europe, CHL transfer rules don't apply to him so he can go to the AHL. Your boy Adam Larsson played in the AHL at 19 and I believe Honka played in the AHL at 18.

I see there is still talk about the Hall for Larsson trade, I look at it with kind of a poker reference.

Let's say Larsson is a Jack and Hall is a King, if I gave you a king for a jack well you win the card for card swap but if that jack gives me a straight flush and the king gives you three kings, who really won that trade?

Well put.
2 different cards at hand, but both with different tangible outcomes that give success to the "player" in situation/projection correlated to x,y, or z.
I think the analogy you just gave perfectly sums up the Hall/Larsson trade.

But then again, you might also be referencing to a certain amount of luck for the "sucker" that got the jack.

Ah, so it seems that he might end up in the AHL.

I'd say that there is a 60% chance he will will end up in the AHL before G9.

However, if he plays a damn good G8, I suspect that Chia will do what MacT did with LD.

Nonetheless, I really think that he needs 1 solid year in the AHL before he can excel at the NHL level. All he needs is a little seasoning imo.

Once again showing your lack of knowledge and blind support to the Chiarelli regime. Severson has nothing to do with who won or lost the trade. Hall is a top 5 winger in the game Larrson is never going to be a top 5 D man. Now really there is a difference between a D man and winger with the D man being way more important than the winger. But let's say a Hall for Subban swap would have happened it would have checked off way for needs than the Larrson deal did. They only thing that Larrson has the edge on is his contract. Larrson was a top 2 dman on a bad team. Right now the Oilers are playing with two second pairs.

Atm Hall is probably about as good as he is going to be. He is very good, and can score. That's about the extent of it. He also turns the puck over a lot and tends to make risky plays, and while not horrid he is not exactly great on the defensive end of things. Great player but doesnt elevate the people around him. Easy to look at surface numbers and say the Oilers lost the trade horribly, but taking into account a lot of Larssons deeper numbers, his young age and the learning curve for dmen, your pronouncements of fact are premature at best.

I hope the Oilers treat the Canucks as a legit threat and not an easy two points
