I've blanked most of last year out.

Not trolling but let's not get ahead of ourselves planning that parade just yet. Ha-ha! I do have Edm as a possible playoff team this year but here's a post I placed on Dobber the other day.

"I don't want to rain on Edm's parade but has any team had an easier schedule to start the season? Edm has played Cal twice to open the season; 29th in the league, Buffalo; 28th, Carolina; 26th, StL; 3rd playing it's 5th game in 9 nights & Winnipeg; 25th. 4 of those 6 games were played at home. They won them & that's important, very much so. Based on standings at time of post the morning on Oct 24th.

I have Edm as a playoff bubble team this season; they could easily make it, but standings & stats are seriously skewed this early in the season as the NHL schedule has very little continuity & I don't start buying things until the last team in the league plays it's 25th game." I do take a snapp shot after the last team in the league plays it's 10th & possibly lay some hedge bets to counter my wagers from before the season started.

I haven't been to a home get yet. Don't live in Edm but a long time season ticket holder That spends more time in Alberta & Texas than at home. Hoping to arrive in time for tonight's game; I will be leaving Dallas shortly hubing out of Denver & looking forward to catching the team live in their new digs tonight & Sunday. Hoping I don't get bogged down & arrive late. The vagaries of flying.

Really looking forward to seeing the new team play. A new day is dawning in Edmonton & I really like what Chiarelli has accomplished restructuring this team in a really short period of time.

alcohol.... ALOT of it. that and a tiny bit of white powder every time schultz was touching the puck but I am happy I get to see schultz play good in pittsburgh

Fair points. The big thing for the Oilers is like you said the schedule has been fairly easy right now. These are games this team SHOULD win and miraculously...they are. This is a team that has basically been out of playoff contention by the end of October routinely. The most important thing they need right now is some confidence and swagger and actually have a goal that isn't "get first overall picks."
