I said this exact sentiment and got blasted on here but its the truth.....

Side note : why were they doing a video memorial on MSG for Matt Martin during last nights game at intermission??? Are they that desperate for material? Am i missing something?

Still using the guys who left to sell tickets.

I think most on here said the team was equal or not as good but there was a big trade coming to get a top 6 forward. There were some on here who said the team was better ( who know who you are (frank)ers :lol The team could still become better who knows but again doesn't look to good at this point.

I don't fault Snow for Okposo leaving. Ok got a Lot of money for a lot of years. My issue is Snow NOT making the Hall trade, Allowing Franz to leave and not resigning Martin. ...

If they have Hall (Or even Vanek) on that top line this team would be fine. Instead He is playing the friggin shell game with JT's wings. It's maddening to watch at this point. For all the Credit over the years I have given snow for holding all his prospects and picks.. there comes a time you have to make moves. We are at that point.. He is holding on to every asset like this team is still a bottom feeder. Move a friggin goalie.. u don't have to get a first round lottery pick you dope.. Move one of them..

Keep 1 kid up... not 2.

Agreed man....

Its like Chia in Edmonton......he lost that Hall trade head to head many said, but he addressed a need for his team. Look at the Oils record.....not too shabby. Best start they've had in a longggggg time.

Garth was probably holding out for a #1 for Bailey. The guy does not like to move prospects unless they piss him off. I would have taken a team with Hall with Frans and Martin returning. He should trade a goalie at this point. I would trade Halak and let Greiss run with it.

Typically what FA's get. However KO who's 28 is getting 6 mil. for 7 years and Ladd 31 this year is getting 5.5 per year for 7 years. KO got exactly what most thought he would get. Ladd at 31, that contract is gonna be ruff in a couple years, hopefully not sooner

Unfortunately, Okposo was a core guy. He was part of the make up of the team. Im not really sure why that went down the way it did. Im still not sure how you let a guy walk for nothing. Especially one that signs for pretty big money. Seems to me he coulda gotten some return. Now, im not saying you trade him at the deadline before the playoffs. But, as a GM, if you know you dont wanna pay him what he's gonna get, you gotta know that the summer before......when he shoulda been traded. Too many head scratchers in this organization.
- kindlyrick

Wrong. Okposo was coming off a season where he had a serious eye injury, and did not look good in the games he played at the end of the season. Until he played the next season, it was not clear whether he would return to form. So there was likely no market for him that summer. For all we know (or will ever know) Snow may have tried to trade him. That's the kind of stuff that is rarely made public.

Rick, the problem I have with you is that you can't help but overstate your case. I don't think there's anyone on this board who wouldn't like to see mgmt. replaced. But you blame Snow for EVERYTHING.......even things beyond his control. Give it a rest.

Ladd Signing is a good one.. I don't mind it one bit. It's just he is not a top line wing. He would be a perfect second or 3rd line guy if you filled the need for a top line wing. Which Snow did not this summer.

this exact point is one of the reasons I think they let him walk and why they were leery to sign him long term. That injury is flat out scary and could come up again at any time. The situation with how it happened has also been talked about a lot and I think 20 years from now we will get the real story. I don't think that sat well with the Isles.

Franz short handed last night.

If you truly believe he's a 2nd or 3rd line guy 5.5 for 7 years at his age is to much money.
They signed him to play with JT. That was your top line winger signing with Pap being the final piece to the top line puzzle. We won't talk about how he turned out.

He hasn't filled that void but for a half season with Vanek, why would we think he would do it this summer. Hall was out there and he passed. Top three scoring winger past 3 years and he's playing in NJ.

Bro dont take this the wrong way (or take it the wrong way), but i dont give a phuck what you think about me.

You wanna go back and forth about Okposo......and his worth? He signed a major contract in Buffalo....so he's obviously worth something.

Frans......what are you gonna say about him? That Snow tried? I chirp Snow because he's failed. No if ands or butts...

Not to give Garth a pass, but that injury and others made it tough to move KO at the time.

Yeah, but he signed that major contract AFTER he played a full season with the Isles post-eye injury. That's the point. You said (for the umpteenth time), why didn't Snow trade him the previous summer.

Play nice boys, KR, I get what JS is saying you go to extremes to bash Snow, ALOT. Daily
JS, I get where KR is coming from as well because Garth is the GM and the buck stops there he hires and fires, signs and lets people walk so at the end of the day it is on him. I think KR is an extremely passionate Isles fan and that passion gets the best of him.

The bottom line, is Snow went after Stamkos and then that ship sailed......afterwards, he came back to Frans who said no thanks. Thats not a good recipe. Its happened time after time after time. So yes, i would like to be done with Snow.....he's had more than enough time to right this ship....

??? Game 1 of last season? Yeah, but at the time, there was no way to know whether he would be playing well or not. You can be sure that the other GMs saw the drop-off in his play when he first returned from the injury. If you recall, the drop-off was so big, that he was moved off the top line.
