Actually he was projected to go late 1st round by almost everyone. The problem was the Rangers picked him with the 10th pick.

I dont remember but if you say so......I do however remember thinking Jeff Beukaboom II should not be the 10th pick.

As I said above, not the worst pick at the time, considering the NHL was still a fighting league back in 2010. But times change. It's why the Isles felt ok with letting Matt Martin walk.

Yup, people fail to take into context when he was drafted and what the Rangers needed. I'm not saying it was the right pick, at the time I wanted Fowler, but I understand why they did it.

Still scratching my head about that one. What's he going to teach anyone? How to drop the gloves? It was the only thing he was good at.
- JohnScammo

He wasn't even a top heavyweight.......but for some reason he's their guy. I love how he was put in charge of Kirril Kabanov......that worked out well.

I agree. He was projected in the mid to late 20's by most. It was certainly a surprise pick.

How did Cairns get the job when he's not from Boston?

C'MONNNNN MANNNNN......Fowler should have been your pick. Doesn't really matter. For a team that prob had less first round picks than most teams in the NHL, somehow the Rags continue to put a solid product on the ice.

Better than Richard Park??? Look, I didn't hate Okposo, but I don't think he was worth $6 MM per season. I'm just saying Ladd deserves more time to adjust to Cappy's {ahem} style of play.
- JohnScammo

Meh JS, Ladd getting 5.5 for 7 years and is 30. Hasn't come in and meshed with JT and looks slow to me. Its early but his contract is going to be a tough one in 3 years, I hope, may be a lot earlier if he doesn't pick it up. Lets hope he gets going.
KO's contract is about what you would have expected him to get.

No, he was among the top guys.......although I would have to say that George Laraque was tougher.

Rangers do a lot better with later round picks, thats why they trade all their 1st and second round picks for old sagging over the hill Vets

I still have hopes that Ladd will eventually learn Cappy's {ahem} system, and prove to be a better player than Okposo.

Exactly, it would be a non issue if he wasn't getting paid much but he's essentially getting the same pay as Kyle.

I think they are different. Ladd is a go to the front of the net type player. He's not gonna carry the puck nor make that beautiful dish but he will play tough and finish, even though we haven't seen it yet. KO will skate with the puck and also make the nice pass, more of a complete player imho. Both have similar numbers and with KO you know what we had and how he played with jT with Ladd well......we will find out.

"Entire organization needs an overhaul"

Over react much?

A real coach and this team is set

Who hired that coach and stuck by him for all the wrong reasons for 6 years?

I'll say this as a positive spin on this season. Whatever happens, im enjoying watching Capuano's post game interviews. He's been a different guy.....you can hear it in his responses. Im sensing a little panic in his voice. I think he knows he's rapidly approaching expiration.

That's on Charles. Garth was dying to hire a proven coach and Wang would not spend the money.

How so? Are they friends or former teammates?
