I mean he did score a goal last night......but im sure coming form Worlds playing under Mike Babcock, is a world of difference.

he just seems way more frustrated this year. even when they are playing decently well, he says things like "unacceptable" and "we can definitely do better than this".

with the right coach this team could be a serious force. i think the younger players are underachieving in subtle ways and would greatly benefit from a better coach. and what's crazy is that even in spite of that, they are a good team. but jobbing 1 goal games at home late in the 3rd is truly unacceptable from a winner. great, not good, teams find ways to win those games.

I don't think he can complain because the coaching is tailored around him. I think he should sign an extension and say "Don't worry about me leaving"...Just play effing hockey.

I'm always hoping they will open it up; but seems like Capuano fears every mistake. If JT is frustrated, maybe it is too much tentativeness, like "Gee we gotta be cup contenders or else" They need to get over the overblown expectations and just be a fun competitive team that does honest work.

JT is a steady, productive and physical forward who creates his own space and definitely top ten, but I don't think he puts it into another gear like Toews and Kane as often when the game is on the line. Like his multiple shootout moves, teams usually know what to expect.

You're a new man today beau looks better than Ladd on jt line and if anyone should take a seat in the box it's Lee he's been garbage. Give barzal another few games see if he can adjust to the speed.

These may seem odd but he's gonna shake the lines up I think we may see 27 29 18 together tonight but I buried Lee because he poo lately

does anyone else get the impression through JT's interviews so far this year that he is fed up with the coaching staff? he is the true leader of this team and he knows it.
- batteryjackson

I think "fed up" may be putting it a little too strong. Cappy seems like a nice guy who is liked by the players. (E.g., last night he refused to publicly call out any players in his post-game interview.) However, I agree with the sentiment that JT would relish the opportunity to play for a better coach. I think that was an important factor in Frans leaving. Players see clubs like last year's Pens completely turn around their season simply making a coaching change.

Upstate, I respectfully disagree. Lee's stats may be unimpressive, but he's one of the few guys the Isles can count on to stand in front of the crease and take the punishment for screening the goalie.

Nothing wrong with playing a hard physical skating game but you can't do it for 82 games. Good pro teams can play more than one style. Especially to prepare for the playoffs where you play different teams with different styles each round.

The post game press conferences where a bunch of know nothing reporters ask the same dopey questions and the coach has to give the same predictable dopey answers is absurd. I think it's good in the playoffs, but for the fans during the regular season it is a joke.

True but Ladd is supposed to do that and could replace him and Ladd has at least gotten chances. Hopefully Lee gets it together

But you should have more than one guy on the team who does it. Ideally, you have one guy on each forward line. Of course, it becomes problematic if that guy is as slow as Lee.

Yes if Lee could get it going you could have Ladd Lee and chimera which isn't bad but he's looked really slow with the puck and hasn't done anything in front like tips screens ect that's his m/o. To be fair they haven't dominated zone time as a whole

Agree about Lee being slow. However, if you want to compare him to Ladd, Ladd has zero goals and is -3 playing with JT, whereas Lee has one goal and with an even +/- playing on a lower line.

Yea honestly I'd play 72 with jt he didn't look out of place I know Ladd doesn't have points but he's had chances and he's gonna finish at some point his history says it will

Yeah, I'm not ready to give up on either Ladd or Lee. The only guy I'm ready to bench is the coach. In fact, here is my prediction............

--Drum roll, please--

Isles lose the next 3 games in regulation, fall into LAST PLACE in the Metro, and Ledecky pressures Snow who then reluctantly cans Cappy. Weight replaces him.

I'm also not ready to give up on Ladd or Lee. Cappy is another matter. Weight bringing his PP skill to the head coaching spot is scary.

"Puck Management"....Really?

Do they call it "Ball Management" in other sports?

I prefer "Playmaking" as the key to hockey.
