either way they let them both get in there a bit too easily... they were probably just slow to react and were only beginning to turn towards the net themselves....

its one of the few physical elements a d man can still use... dont let guys drive the net without the puck... if they hit the D man then its interference on the guy going to the net.

to let two guys through like that... just unacceptable.... one i could see... but two? absurd.

It's funny, last year they had very little offensive talent and they played a much tighter game, right from game 1.

This year, they have some talent up front but the whole team has lost the script on playing defense.

I expect to see some adjustments from Babcock. Ultimately the team will improve but the offense will dry up a little. We've seen great offensive performances by the Leafs in the past, when they didn't bother playing defense.

Two Marlies leading the scoring (although early) and Nielson top scoring D so far...plus I think he's he's gonna' be huge in a few years.

yeah exactly... not as much firepower last year but more guys who played those checking style roles... so they knew how to play without the puck better.

this year these guys cant even manage a breakout consistently... it will get worked out... but it just shows just how long of a ways to go his team actually is.

god i hope i dont have to listen to quick fix trade proposals all year again

Mitch Marner is such a goon. He's got the most PIM on the team. What a sick pass to Bozak to get that lead last night though!

A little comment on the Habs since I was at the game... These guys are so boring to watch. They literally put the crowd and teams to sleep playing 1-1-3 style and waiting for a quick 2 on 1 break. These might make you win regular season games.. but this won't work in the playoffs when teams will be 10X more physical.

I know...a team playing a 3rd game in 4days playing defensively to win....and succeeding, that's so boring.

Ya I was going to reply to him that I believe the habs are 7-0
So their 7-0 record doesnt care.

But I guess they were what 9-0 to start last year?
