Kap, I think is a better fit.. Then we also have Timashovoffski - bixll
I think Kap is going to be a solid NHL player, but it will likely be elsewhere. Leafs will make a trade for a d-man this year and he is one future piece they can afford to move.

I don't see this, especially with the death of the whole "top six/bottom six" concept. Having Marner, Brown and Kap as your top three RW is a pretty good position to be in. Matthews, Nylander and Kadri as your top 3 C is also pretty solid. Now we just need to figure out the LW spots (Timashov, Johnsson, Leipsic etc all have a shot) and then the forwards are fairly well set. |

The Leafs have a lot of talent. The wins will come. Not enough to make the playoffs but look at the 9-12 range of picks thats where we are most likely picking. - Santo_44
unless they make a trade for a dman, I can't imagine the leafs get enough wins to be the 18th best team in the league....hunwick, polak, marincin are all 7th defenseman |

I'm sure andersen would like hunwick and polak sit as well......and for that matter, I think he might as well have a seat for a game or two while hes at it |

So far, we kind of look like Edmonton.
Lots of skilled forwards. Exciting to watch. Can score a lot of goals.
Poor defense and bad goal tending.
Yes, it's not exactly the same, as we have an experienced coach who is here long term. We have a top line defender in Rielly, but the inconsistency and the way the team plays is similar.
Hopefully the Leafs will grow faster as a group. |

I feel.like the only way Hunwick comes out is if he's injured.. which is pretty ridiculous but Babcock loves him. Also not sure why Holland is the one sitting, can't have a skilled 4th line I guess. Oh well |

Edmonton's defense group is stronger than Toronto imo. Even if Rielly would probably be the best player of either team's defensive unit.
Klefbom Larsson
Sekera Russell
Nurse Gryba
It's pretty decent, some decent NHL players + solid young players in Nurse Larsson and Klefbom.
And Calbot is off to a good start unlike Andersen |

With Holland, maybe 1 assist in 6 games has something to do with it. I know he is 4th line but as Josh Donaldson would say, the NHL is the get it done league not the good try league. |

I thought he's looked fine, he isn't in a great spot to succeed really.. he's a better player then Smith. |

I agree with you on the top six bottom six mumbo jumbo. Skill and speed are what better teams need and Kapinen certainly has that. My thinking is, that the Leafs have some high skill, smallish and fast players. They may want a bigger right winger. If not, they still have Bracco - who in my opinion has more skill than Kapinen but perhaps less trade value.

Year to date, Holland 48% on faceoffs and Ben Smith 54%.
If you are not going to put up points at least take possession. |

Everyone is entilted to their own opinions.
But I really don't get why people don't think Kapanen can be a really solid player. He would be a top prospect on a lot of farm systems. He probably won't be a Kessel but he can most certainly be a 2nd line player. If not a scoring 3rd line winger. |

I would agree with you that Holland is better than Smith. I have a feeling, Smith is only here because Leafs are preparing to trade Holland - but the bottom line is that they are both species of feces. |

Winning the faceoff doesn't mean much if you don't do anything with it. Hollands possession numbers are better than smith despite smith having better fo%. |

I like Babs, it's all good to score but you need to keep the puck out of your net.
Did you notice they had a dash 2 before they scored that's great.
