I can't remember.

I was a Reimer guy. I fought this same battle to a lesser extent, against the Bernier sympathizers. I never thought Reimer was a "good" starter, but if we look at goalies over the last 10 years, I think he was the best starter we had.

i have played there actually... a few times... but that was way back when the band first started and we were still doing the acoustic thing...i don't think our current lineup would even fit on that stage now... nice place, i liked it there

With Andersen looking like a drunk mastodon on skates right now, you have to think that's correctable. Ritalin? Quaaludes?

Wouldn't hurt

Problem is, he looks really uncomfortable in the net. That needs to get sorted out first.

I don't know if it's Babcock asking him to playing way out on the blue ice, different team in front of him (maybe he doesn't trust that D will take the shooter, take away backdoor, etc.), or injury still having an effect on movement, but he doesn't visually look at all like he did in Anaheim.

he's still finding himself in this market

i think those boos last night might be a motivator for him tho...

but you got to feel for the guy... everyone talks about the shot count last night for instance... which really doesnt mean squat... its about shot chance percentage... and the leafs keep on giving high chance shots up... i mean really? hedman skates in from the point without anybody on him? thats not on the goalie.

i think as the leafs get their team defense figured out andersen will start to look better... has he looked shaky? yup... but i have this feeling he is trying to do too much... a whole lot of new guys playing together this year... once they start to figure out who is covering who the goals against will start to go down.

he actually looks quite similar to the Andersen in Anaheim.
I've said at least 10 times that Andersen on Anaheim wasn't very spectacular (apart from a few odd games).
He's basically the same level as Reimer (who I liked).
Nothing wrong with Andersen as a starting goalie.
BUT you need to have a few guys on D that actually know how to defend.
At this moment Leafs have max 2 of those.

I wont worry until at least game 20... if he is still giving up goals once the leafs are playing better in front of him defensively then that will be cause for concern.

but between turnovers and blown coverage i have a hard time pinning it all on him

Andersen just isn't the guy who is going to steal a bunch of games for you. I still think he's a solid goalie that will allow a good team to win. This is not a good team.

Naw, watch some video of him in ANA: I'm not talking about goals, but how the guy physically looked when he was with ANA. He looked way more composed in net.

He's all over the place now, looks more like Gustavsson or Sparks out there this year.

I agree with exception to the wish/thought that the Leafs will play better in front of him between game 10-20.
To make that happen, you need to bring in 2 new D-men.

It might affect his decision making with his body though. Instead of staying tall and blocking a shot with his shrugged shoulder, he's crouching down and fanning at a high shot.

I don't know if that's it exactly, but I think any injury on a goalie will affect his play, which could trigger errand behaviour elsewhere as compensation.
