I think you mean Canucks Hockeybuzz, because you were still active in The Flames blog.

The flames blog is dead all summer ...have to give it some love every once in a while ya know ....and the Canucks are still ahead of the flames and in a playoff spot ...so it's not like I waited til the bottom fell out before returning

I'm not a fan of LE off the Sedin line I would like to see WD give it 15-20 games to get LE rolling, but I'm starting to wrap my head around the idea of LE with Horvat.

Eriksson may help get Baertchi going too.

Don't really want t change the Sutter line right now. Has our 4th line registered a point?

- LordHumungous

It seems coaches tend to change things up whenever a top line guy isn't scoring ...who knows maybe I'm a road game split the big line up to get away from mstchups

I think the oiler games are going to be must-watch TV for years to come. Fun team to watch.

Center ice row 6 for the Oilers game...one of the few games I look forward to. Tampa, Pitts, Edmonton and Las Vegas are the best teams to watch in my opinion

STL looked stunned last night...Flames took it to them.

Hey have you heard anything out of Calgary about Johnny Hockey and Monahan being quite the party animals? I've been hearing some wacky stuff come out of Calgary lately. Also some stuff about JG's holdout being part and partial to a small stint in rehab?

I'm beginning to doubt this team has what it takes to win the Presidents Trophy...

It is over. Ask Nuck4u. If it wasn't for injuries, having the worst schedule, being fatigued, and not executing perfectly, we would be a cup contending team...

I'm actually quite stoked with what I have seen so far. Of course I had low expectations but the Sutter line has been much better than I expected. Horvat continues to one of our most dangerous players, Hutton looks dangerous and the goal tending had been really good. Dorsett only has one pissing contest and for the most part has been really effective.

Those were a lot of my concerns and they all look legit. I'm not worried about Sedins and LE, they will be fine.

I don't think I really have any disappointments with this team so far. Perhaps Baertschi but I wasn't sold on his half season last year either and think he will always be a streaky 2/3 winger.

My expectations going into the season, even with the addition of Gudbranson+larsen+stecher+rodin was for them to still be in limbo and be a .500 at best. The fact they started 4-0, Gudbranson and Hutton seem good together, Stecher seems like a valueable asset, my expectations have definitely been surpassed. However, I think the writing is on the wall with this team. Ticket sales are down, many empty seats, always trailing, being severly beat in almost all stats by some of the powerhouse west teams, we kind of knew this was going to happen. I agree with Vantel, and I hope this is a wake up call to FA, that shows that hybrid-rebuilds don't work. If the team slips bad, I really hope we start selling off players for picks at TDL, work the system so we have the "right" players eligible for expansion, and start doing what needed to be done a while ago. All this being said IF we really start to blunder and fall.

The sad reality is this team will always be a plodding bubble team until the Sedin's retire. They will keep us from the basement but aren't capable of leading this team into the playoffs as well. The game is all about youth and speed now and they have a combined age of 72 and are remarkably slow given what great athletes they are. We are stuck in neutral until they retire.

I agree with most of your post but we don't have many desirable assets to sell off. Patience is required as there are no quick fixes in our future.

no we do not. And that stems from the Gillis era of drafting/selling off picks/handing everyone long term contracts with NTC's. I have no complaints with Drafter Jim at all. I really like what he has done. I just want him to have more picks to play with.

Scoring has been this team biggest issue for years IMO and I know the defense was bad as well last year in particular. Every year the players they bring in or draft tend to be safe two way players. You need that definitely but if the Sedins don't score they generally are not in the game.

Benning needs to take some high end offensive talent with his picks this year.
