I think he's looked good. I'm happy they want to get him more ice time. Just don't think it should be at the expense of a guy that's also playing well.

The only other thing I can think of is they don't want Gorges and Franson together as that's a huge liability from a skating standpoint.

Andrew allen's a pretty good goalie coach...i'd have to believe that murray talked to him about nilsson and asked him if he saw some things that needed a little work or some tweaking that could make him a better goalie

Doubtful Jr. He wasn't that great years ago. It's why he's now the 3rd guy in line to begin with.

I'd say they should just throw Campbell in there and see what the kids got. Can't possibly be any worse that putting Budaj in there.

good point...I think gorges has been holding he fort quite well...Franson, on the other hand, has looked terrible

AT one point last year, Nilsson was the guy in Edmonton, until they inevitably fell apart in front if him like they have with every other goaltender in the recent past. If you go into his game log from last year, you can see where he had a pretty decent stretch.

That said, I'm not sure I'm ready to say our defense is a ton better than what they had in front of him last year. But he should be able to hold his own in there for some games here and there.
