I'm interested to see if Baptiste can keep up with his "nose for the net"...the kid always seemed to score in the preseason the last few years..and then got one out west...maybe he just has that "feel"
- Ripped Fuel

Would be nice if he got more than like 5 mins of ice time. He's FAST. Something this team could use more of, especially with Eichel and Kane out. He had a bit of a rough year in Rochester last year, but played well in the prospect tourney and then did well in camp/preseason. I think he just needed some time to adjust last year. So long as he's using his speed, he's in the right frame of mind and can cause fits for the other team.

The Kings could miss. Quick is pretty important piece of their puzzle out there. Gonna be hard to win many 2-1 games with Budaj in net.

He's no Gionta though, who more than earns his 18-20 mins a night.

I don't see why you'd bump McCabe down to pair 3. He's playing well. Or at least his ice time indicates that Byslma thought he was playing well.
- HonkFortheGoose

Neither do I and yet this is a scenario we've seen one too many times in his tenure here.

I thought I missed that as well. If Kuli is on the 2nd pair, where does that put McCabe? Is he with Risto and Gorges/Franson are #3?
- HonkFortheGoose

I don't know what they're doing for tonight but this morning on WGR Bylsma said they're very happy with the way Kulikov has played so far and they're simply easing him into a greater number of minutes after the back injury.

It sounded as though the plan is exactly what we expected, that he will play alongside Risto on the top pair, but that it will take a bit longer for him to reach that level after the injury.

I like Fasching. Just needs AHL time. That said, Baptiste would benefit more from being there getting top mins than here 5 mins a game. But until we get Eichel and Kane back, you'll probably see them rotate those guys in and out. Might see Bailey and Nylander end up in that rotation as well.

very...I like jack...granted he's no McDavid or Matthews (not too far off,) but he's got an inner fire that burns real hot...won't ever underestimate him
