Meh, I dont want them to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. Howwever there is an opportunity to acquire a glaring need I think you do it. If there is the right deal. If you have to trade Marner Nylander or Matthews for one you dont

1. Michalek looks slow out there, particularly the first few strides, so I'm glad he's gone. Knee surgery is tough to bounce back from.

2. Smith or another PK righty (Soshnikov) will give us another responsible line (4th) to take on more defensive zone starts and spread out the PK minutes more evenly.

3. We have a lot of depth on the wing, particularly since the kids we have up are all meeting or exceeding expectations, and will be be up all year.

This to me, makes JVR expendable: I think he'd look good in a Ducks jersey and could see us getting Fowler for him, along with a cap dump (Boll) to give them some room to sign Lindholm.

Problem is ducks can't afford to take on salaries. Or celeries. Which to me makes this a bad deal. Right now we don't have salary or celery to spare unless Cowen is au revior. Which isn't for another month it looks like. We need to stop taking on salaries. Enough now imo. We don't need more prospects or picks. Have enought. We nwed top end talent and to me Fowler isn't that. Keep JVR for now. He help Marner.

Yep. Anaheim needs to jettison salary. I think that's easier than getting a full value return for Lindholm.
