I suspect keeping Tryamkin in the pressbox has more to do with the fact he's not very good than it does his cardio. He's a prospect, and a green one at that. He is not a saviour on defense and will require years to develop into a Chara-esque presence. I siad the same thing last year but one good game had everyone in denial.

Sure .... that can be true .... just summarizing radio interview with JB on 1040

Agreed, he's a prospect that needs to be developed, not sit in a press box. Which is why he's better suited to go to the AHL and play but he doesn't want too. Him refusing to go isn't very smart on his part.

U am sure they would have liked to call up Pedan but would risk losing him. Squeezed him through earlier but doubt whether the Leaves would allow him to go unclaimed a 2nd time around.
Think Larsen needs to sit out next game, a liability in own zone.

Leaves can't pick him up. At max contract number (until Cowen gets sorted)

Van screw this up? He has Van by the curlies, he should want to do whatever he needs to do to become a better player. He won't develop into a serviceable dman sitting in he press box. Van bringing up Stecher and playing him before Tryamkin says something.

nevermind the AHL, send Tryamkin to Toronto. Can you imagine the beatdown Babcock would unleash on him?

He's got a contract and is sticking to it.
Quite possibly a communist.

Pretty sure they could waive any number of defenseman and not be concerned about it.

They'd still have 50 contracts. Leaves can't get that bloke you're talking about. Feel free to waive away

They were at 49. With Smith it's 50. Michalek still counts as a pro contract. Just designated to the AHL (unless someone is crazy enough to claim him)

Keon is an embarrassment to the Maple Leaf franchise and that is no easy feat. Ungrateful POS!

When someone calls you Cartman, or Fatass, or tells you that you need to stop eating Beefcake 3000 and the shoe fits...

Jesus Christ, 265 lbs? He needs about 100 hours doing Tae-Bo or Jazzercize or any one of Richard Simmons's TV exercise programs... god, now I'm imagining Tryamkin in a 80's pink/purple/green leotard and leggings.

- DariusKnight

I wouldnt call 265 for a 6'8 athlete out of shape.

Disagree.
He hasn't played well enough to beat out the top 6.
i don't think many thought he would.
when injuries happen, he should be the first to slot in.

I'd rather have Tryamkin playing on a bottom pairing than having Stetcher and Larsen at the same time.

- dbot

yes we saw last year that he has some serious tools.

JB was recently interviewed about Tree he said he can carry 265lbs easily cause he's a big "dude" ... so his cardio is what is being worked on plus systems play and positioning. He's an experienced young player so not at the AHL level but needs NHL development. That they prefer having him here to do that cause they have more control. In short he's not ready for NHL action and the AHL isnt the plan. There you go... Believe it or not this is a Canuck plan not to use Tree now.

this has been my take on it as well.

It's a JB take I am just sumerizing based on his interview but now media spin plus his placing of press quote on AHL stint have people spouting off which will go bad against a Russian kid who's not playing any games but has loads of unique potential

They wanted him to leave his KHL club to come here and that was the agreement. Management, wants him here but they are in a must win no development situation at this point .... seems there is pressure to improve and get fans back plus keep their jobs more so with WD. Add in the hard part of the schedule until new year they won't risk putting Tree in. So unless they think he's 100% ready or best option they got over who's available he's going to be insurance. Right now with depth he's like #9 in line barring injuries... would have him #10 but Canucks won't risk losing Pedan to waivers at this point. Not unless they have no choice will they call him up and then keep him here.

What do you think of the Menja call up... thought they want a hitter instead or they see Skille like that and trust Menja more for PK... ?

Even Vermette?!? Say what you will about him, but FOs have always been his strength.

VAN lost because they're coming back down to earth. There always a couple of poor teams who come out strong. NJ did the last two seasons.

VAN will be fighting for that 1st Overall. Anyone who says different is just being a homer.

Well this team has a few injuries and is in a hard part of the schedule but seems to be winning more then losing. This team was in the top of its division last year with a lesser line up before key injuries did it in. So let's see where they go and you can climb back under your bridge ... with your other bandwagon jumping troglodytes

Exactly how a homer would respond.
