Not that I actually want Calgary to get better but you should really be all in on Lindholm. Whatever it takes. He would be a huge addition. Any minute munching shut down type is exactly what Calgary needs on the back end right now.
But the forwards still would need to commit to a 200 foot game and the rest of the D would still need to pinch less. - Aerchon
We'd likely just lose him in the expansion draft, so why bother? Unless the plan is to expose every fwd over 25. |

I agree with all of this but I think the frustration isn't that they are losing, but how they are losing. Honestly I can barely watch the games they are playing so poorly, and for me that's the hard part. I have season tickets and I'm not even excited to head to the rink they are playing so bad. I know it'll change, but it's hard to stay patient.
I don't know if I remember anyone coming in here claiming the Flames would be a contender this year. I thought they would be in the 8-12 range, so currently they aren't meeting my expectations, but nobody should really be surprised where they are in the standings. - The-O-G
Yea, they are playing badly. Johnny's puck control is looking brutal for him. The D are not properly positioned and the team as a whole are not backing each other up and the passing is beer league level. I think (hope) though that that is all part of the transition from Hartley's ingrained habits amongst the the players to the new, perhaps, more complicated team system. |

Unless we're talking trade Dougie for either Trouba or Lindholm. Still leaves a hole at #4. Should be a wild offseason given all of the team's needing to prepare for expansion. |

Yeah they are pressing too hard. This road trip didn't come soon enough. The good news is that it's between the ears right now. |

Dear god, reading some of this is pathetic. I caught poop for stating i thought we weren't a playoff team. Yes, it blows we are losing and yes it blows even more how they are losing.
We are in a viscous cycle where our top players are taking too many chances and playing like they NEED to win the game on their own. Its no secret our D is weak after the top 3 and even those guys aren't playing to the expectation or their potential. It'll come.
Our forwards have no cohesion and are running around to try and create offense. It'll come. New systems, new coaches, new gameplans but old habits. It'll come.
Regardless of who is in front of him, Elliott is a decent tendie (and yes better than the options we had last year). No he's not Top 5 but he's serviceable and on a 1 year stint. If he plays the way he has, we have a serviceable back up in Johnson, also for one year. It'll come.
The season is two weeks not two months old. The expectation is we are supposed to be a better team that what we were and I believe we've made steps to confirm that. It may not show in wins but it will come.
If this is how we are come January, f'n rights, this is EXACTLY how the convo's should be but right now at least let the dust settle and lets figure out what we REALLY are.
Oh and OG please for the love of all things good, get rid of Beiber it creeps the (frank) out of me!!!! - geta02it

I don't think Anaheim could take on Dougie making 5.75. They are not a cap team. If that wasn't the case they would just give the money to Lindholm. |

Maybe the Biebs has cursed the Flames? Maybe it's time I changed my avatar and turn this franchise around?!!!! It will forever be known as the day the-O-G saved the Flames. |

Hah what's wrong with you today? Anaheim has under .7 mill in cap space. They jumped up to the cap when they gave Kesler, Stoner, Bieksa stupid contracts/ gave Vatanen a Brodie-style contract.

Hah I blame the Avatar.
Edit: But yeah, the ducks can't afford that trade cap wise anyway. |

Hah yeah they wouldn't.
Troubdogg for Dougie anyone? Not a huge fan of that idea, but Trouba is arguably better defensively. |

You should switch it up with a topless pic of Burt Reynolds. |

Quotes are broken so I'll start right here.
I agree with Duran's earlier statements. Striker777 only ever has anything negative to say, and really just comes here to piss people off. Plus scalpers are low life's anyways, so we know what kind of lack of character he has. |

Don't forget the Hawks PK is terrible. This could help the Flames struggling power play. |

OG is just a pretty face and rock hard abs. Maybe he needs to change his avi to something a little more cerebral like Avril Livigne. |

Agreed. We are 2 bloody weeks in and people have their pitch forks and torches out already. This is a marathon, not a sprint, so it will take some time to gel.

I saw the Blues game in person the other night and I think there is something off in the locker room. Bold statement I know.
Possible Clues:
1) Gio WAY overcompensating to the point of making dumb plays
2) Johnny repeatedly getting run over and no one reacts
3) Very poor efforts on 50/50 puck battles
4) The looks on their faces, i.e. Bennett who looks like he might cry
Yes I know the PP has been horrendous, The Oilers embarrassed us in the first two games, and the goal tending/defense has been poor, but there has to be something else going on.
Is it possible the team despises Johnny's delay in signing, the new coach, or perhaps even that guys actually liked Bob Hartley? I know we were fed the opposite by the press, but I am starting to wonder...
Something seems to be malfunctioning in the heart/soul department of our team, and I don't think its simply because we are losing games.
Anyone else feel me? |
