I freaking hate pork. Refuse to eat it.
Hate chicken too. But love me some cow.
Not sure why Islam hates it though |

Religiously, both Islam & Judaism bans it because it is unclean. There is a process through the Torah which food may be made kosher, or "fit to eat".
Most likely, the ease of people getting sick from undercooked pork products, as well as the arid area that most early Jews and Muslims lived in were the rationale for the pork and other food bans. Shellfish are banned, too.
Or maybe it's the same reason my grandfather explained why Catholics couldn't eat meat on Fridays. He told me, when I was about 7, that "All the Goddamned apostles were fishermen, and they used Jesus to sell their catch" |

They say eating a fish a week is great for you.
But science also told me fish oil pills were good for me too. Turns out they were paid to say that.

Makes sense. When I asked my dad why great uncle David wouldn't eat bacon, dad simply sat me down, considered it for a minute, and said: "cause Uncle Dave is a schmuck" |

Clinical trials support 4 g of fish oil daily for triglyceride lowering capabilities.
Additionally, evidence has shown fatty fish oil improves cardiac outcomes and should be increased in all folks' diet. In at risk patients, fish oil supplementation is warranted. |

Sitting in an airport with wifi for the next few minutes.
Missed the start of the season unfortunately.
It sounds like Matt Read and Manning are off to good starts.
Do you think they will end up protecting Manning in the expansion draft if he keeps it up?
Great to see Read playing well.
How's Konecny doing?
From what I can tell Provorov has been up and down a bit, completely expected I guess.
VDV still playing every game too which is awesome.

I havent been able to watch much of them this year either. Funny thing to me is Manning seems to be growing. Taking on the increasing role well and not faltering. Good for him, and the club.

Protecting Manning kind of puts a kibosh in the whole expansion fodder business. At that point they'd have to play MacDonald over half the season, and it means MDZ is not resigned. I doubt Manning gets taken by Vegas anyway. If they do, whatever, no great loss, even as well as he has been playing. We will have a couple new kiddies who will be in the lineup next year. |

Flyers management saw something in him that I was missing.
They stuck with him last season and now he is rewarding them.
Hope he keeps it up. |

I could see Vegas taking him. Pretty cheap and still young(ish).
Re upping MDZ will be expensive, I think.
Unless he keeps getting injured. |

Read has the skating legs back. Yay.
Manning is looking good, you're right. I think he'll at least make a case to be protected. Who'dathunk we'd have too many defensive cooks in the kitchen?
Konecny and his line have been great. He's fast and skilled and has great vision. It's pretty evident.
Provorov has been a little unlucky too, but yeah, up and down. Take away that Hawks game and he's been pretty solid for a 19 year old, if you want to look at it that way.
VDV is literally terrible. |

There are still far better d men to take if you do the mock expansion drafts. If they do take him.....we will survive. He's been playing like a legit bottom pair guy, but he's still nothing special long-term. That means Laughton, Cousins, Read, etc. are still here anyway. If they take him, they take him. There's no one else to expose unless MacDonald is here half the season, and with Provorov, Gudas, MDZ, Ghost, Manning, and Streit, fitting him in won't be easy. Or good.
Personally, I could see them taking Weise or Neuvirth. |

Playing big minutes vs Kane Panarin Arty line would stress 95% of established NHL D
Great learning experience for him, welcome to the big leagues.

I personally don't think that a cavalier attitude should be taken towards possibly losing Manning in the expansion draft. Having a player that you developed, that can play a solid 3rd pairing role, for a low cap hit, is a valuable player in a cap environment. You could argue that you can always find a 3rd pair defender in free agency, but I'd argue that you'd probably have to overpay somewhat, and I think continuity on a team, is important.

LeBrun: I think at some point #NYR will do everything they can to trade for a Top-4 D, or get some help on D, between now & trade deadline.
Hmm. We have a few "top-4 D". But to trade them to a hated division rival? What a tough pill to swallow!
