I don't know what you do with Gordon if he's not winning draws. Guys go through hot streaks on that stuff, but it is concerning -- sometimes, you just have to do the job you're on the roster to do

I don't think there is any question MacDonald and Schultz should sit.

Right now the idea situation would to keep Manning with Provorov but Gudas plays right and MDZ left, so we'll see if Hakstol chooses to keep the pair over what's most comfortable.

I think back to the Voracek deflection goal. Konecny up the left half wall to Provorov for the shot. With Dale Weise out and with how big Couturier is and how good coots is in tight around the crease, I think this is an opportunity to see how Konecny can do on the left half wall at this level and have Coots replace Weise for two games in the crease.

I actually would like to see what Provorov and Ghost can do together but this season mistakes by both make me worry a little.

I expect Provorov to get much better in his own end as his career goes forward. I do think Ghost will need a reliable defense first partner to play with even as he ages.

Both guys need someone steady to play with in their young careers. Hence Schultz and Manning.

I want a true top pairing. MDZ and Gudas have shown they were able to provide that.

Then you need a legit top pair. They have the makings of two solid second pairs, but they don't have a legit number one guy. Hopefully, Provorov will become that in time. He has the tools to do it. But he ain't there yet.

I don't disagree, but I also want to keep the kids away from veterans who are struggling or limiting their play. I think that Gostisbehere was somewhat stifled playing with MacDonald last season. I think a lot of Provorov's issues (and perhaps some of Streit's) came about because they didn't mesh well.

I think, with a healthy D group, the Flyers can ice a pretty solid top six and that Gostisbehere & Provorov can handle sizeable roles in it.

Definitely. For me it's about having someone reliable. Limited is one thing but being an unreliable defensive partner is not what the kids should be experiencing.

Why MacDonald should be out on his ass and why I prefer Schultz to Streit.
