Why is Tarasenko on the pk? he is the least defensive player we have. He gets his stick in the lane but for pk players you expect some shot blockers and guys that can really possess the puck. Tarasenko is mainly offensive so maybe they are just hoping for a shorty with him out there.

He usually goes out for a few seonds on it and does good. usually towards the end.

thought there was going to be a boarding penalty late in the period against either Reaves or Brodziak i can't remember who actually hit the guy in the corner, i think Reaves though

I think Yakupov will be a fine contributor to our offense once he gets acclimated to the team. He has shown he can be defensive and offensive so maybe it could be a really big steal
as i type this Perron just tied the game so now i have to rewind it and watch the goal

I know it was against the Oilers but Yakupov sure showed some of the flashes that made him slide across the rink on his goal against the Oilers. Jumping and without the teammate hugging him i wonder what he would have done

All those haters of Perron...do you like apples? how do you like those apples?

His all around game is much improved and to be honest I would rather have him on my team than Brouwer. Brouwer never looked that good at both ends of the ice for the Blues even in the play offs.

Hell the way Perron has played rather have him, especially at this price than Backes.

Fine? What did I say?

Yeah we robbed the Oilers in broad day light. That kid is quickly looking like what he was supposed to be and was but was mismanaged by idiots.

Chiareli made this mistake and lost his job in Boston. Only McDavid can save him.

I do not understand. I thought the Flames would be so much better. I guess an injury and Johnny sitting out has them missing some timing? But the dfense I liked it but they just do not look good.

geesh what a weird game. One goalie playing great five goals given up. The other playing terrible four goals. Makes the game look unlike it should.

Allen the previous two games plays great and we can't score. The Blues score lots and he plays like garbage.

You know what? I think the Blues have to be embarrassed. They let up and almost cough the game up.

Allen is way better than that. But that crap one he let in I think messed with his head.

Poop on Elliott, Johnson would be my starter.

No way. You have to start Hutton are the Flames will theow everything at the net with too much confidence and figure out to win.

I am really impressed by Hitch. He continues to grow intellectually and adapt to a changing game. Stick tap to Hitch.

Got to wonder if JayBo was still dealing with injuries last year. His skating is back.

jaybp looks weak to start the season and the reason why vancouver scored to tie the game was his fault

If you cant see past one bad play the dozens of good plays, the poke checks, the good positioning, keeping guys to the outside, moving the play up ice, keeping plays alive at the blue line, then you don't know enough to comment on the matter.

The man played his way onto team Canada yet according to some he should be given away for nothing in the expansion draft.

Was nice to see him get rewarded with some points, he's been one of the Blues best players. No way are we sitting at 4-1-1 without him in the lineup.

I'm impressed with Yak too, he's been better than advertised defensively and showing some good play-making ability along with his obvious speed and skill.

The fancy stats said he was good both ways. If you read the Oilers blogger he was saying that the different coaches pushed him more defensively and that this particular knock on him was inaccurate.

I liked him before and thought he could likely be rehabbed, but honestly I never thought he would look this good so soon. He looks so good that I am thinking just about everyone was grossly underestimating just how good this kid is and why he was choosen number one over all.

I mean put another feather in Armstrong's cap. The man is a really good GM, even if at times any of us feel like we should curse him. The same goes for Hitch. I cannot argue with either results or his willingness to grow his thinking and challenge himself. That kind of intellectual honesty is, surpisingly(to me), rare.

I am sure at some point when I get frustrated, overly emotionally charged or dissatisfied with a player's effort versus what we know they can do(JayBo last year), I will dump on them. Still wow, impressive.

Maybe a bit harsh.

But yeah watching him go up against McDavid the other night and his ability while going backwards to position himself and keep McDavid in front of him was really impressive. We saw what McDavid did against a good defense and if anyone has watched him against lesser teams that kid's speed is unreal.

Bernie said that play McDavid made on the second goal was his fault on the cross over. But it was Petro's, because Petro needed to cross over with his guy because JayBo was containing McDavid. If Petro switches over and takes Lucic McDavid is forced to take a low percentage shot or try to go behind the net or into the corner.

Petro gave him the space and time, because if you do double cover him one guy has to be overly agressive and force a play, thus limiting the time element which usually increases errors in decision making and execution.

I will have to play that part of the game but for some reason, maybe because it has happened at least three times this year, I remember Parayko blowing coverage on Bo Harvat and him getting a clean look on the side of the net off a rebound.

Which if that were the case would be a miracle on JayBo's part to have cause Parayko to watch the play and forget the man. Parayko, btw claimed Horvat had gotton really good positioning. Yes he did and Parayko did not cover or harrass him. Which I believe I womdered after that game if it was a purposeful decision because of Prayko's size and potential to screen his own goalie.

But I will check it out and make sure I am remebering correctly.

So last night Panarin 2 assists and a shoot out goal and Vesey two goals got the second and third star with a goaltender getting the first.

But Perron having a hatty and an assist not a star

I agree, that one was on Petro. I'm willing to bet that the gameplan was to keep Jbo on Mcdavid whenever possible because he has the best chance of keeping up with him.
