He was good in Boston.
- Steven_Seagull

Right, I missed that game. So he was terrible in preseason, bad against Ottawa, good against Boston, decent against the Jets, very good against Chicago.

All in all, about where he should be considering how much preseason/camp he missed.

Yes it would, because everything else on the team is improving. We need our goaltending to be on the same page.

And the forwards being able to get out of their zone cleanly...

To be fair they had more experienced teams and veterans than Anderson does. Plus it's only been 5 games. I don't think suggesting a little more wait and see is letting him off a hook.

No, I agree, more time is needed to give an accurate assessment. I just don't agree with the posters that are saying it's not Andersen's fault at all based on the average age of the team

So I guess it wasn't Bernier or Reimer's fault last year....my bad.

I honestly haven't been impressed with Andersen, but I know he's already getting better and will continue to do so with the club, and that's all that counts.

It's certainly making his job harder. I don't see anyone saying it isn't Andersons fault. I see some saying it's not all his fault.

The point is....we were supposed to have upgraded our goaltending....it's looking like more of the same, and for 5 years at 25 million dollars worth.
- ThePresident

Well, he was injured in the stupid world cup, so that completely botched his preparations for the season, and it shows. Give it time, we're not winning the cup this year anyway.

Good job by the PK tonight.

Man Marner looks like he's about 14, I can't believe he can not only hold his own in the NHL but this kid has been one of the best players on the ice in these games. This is (frank)ing amazing.

Also I love Matthews total deadpan after scoring in the lameout, I think he's gonna have a lot of been-there-before non-celebration goal celebrations, love it.

- Zezel

Can't wait to see his Conn Smythe Trophy winning reaction. ....Meh.

The whole team is at fault for these loses, that's my point.

Posters like to snipe at particular positions and players on here (cough, Gardiner... Hunwick...Andersen...), particularly the ones who're not paying attention to the game (or even watching it, I suspect).

That's another thing. I missed the OT to make a beer run before closing time. But the Hawks had 2 power plays in OT.

Thanks refs. Sure made winning possible..

Jesus Christ, this is Reimer vs Bernier all over again.

I'm not mentioning Leafs goalies anymore.

I'm going to safely assume they are poop until I'm gladfully persuaded otherwise.

I only attack Gardiner to counter balance the nonsense claims that he's somehow elite.

Well it's really not that complicated. The leafs of the past few years were so bad defensively it was hard to tell how bad/good the goalies actually were. So confusion and debates were logical on both sides.

The only thing the kids are gaining experience with is losing, I put that on Babcock, horrible coaching decisions by a supposedly great coach to me is troubling.

Yeah it's early but the trends are never changing.

Yup. You can't expect goaltenders to steal you games all the time. Cujo and Belfour ruined it for us, but that didn't really get us anywhere either.

Even Price has had good to very good defensive teams in front of him his whole career.

The kids are playing exactly as expected: in the offensive zone, dynamic, talented, confident, in their own end though? Pressured, confused, and overwhelmed for the most part.
