No, you don't. You can't guarantee Nylander would have scored where Holland failed to. - BetterCallSaul
Give me a break. You put out your most skilled guys, especially the same guys that had a great game. Peter Holland blows. Luck can only go so far. Terrible coaching decision. |

Who cares what someone did last season....Matthews, Marner, and Nylander (some games) weren't around last season....we all know, they'd do much better. - ThePresident
You know....marner didnt score either right? |

Sidenote: I never thought I'd think this, but I think we need Liach in the lineup. He's the kind of player you need for the kids in these situations. It's not like he can be any worse, anyway. |

This is the kind of adversity that this kids need to be exposed of. This is The Leafs equivalent to Edison's "how not to make a lightbulb" allegory.
They will learn. If this continues to happen in game 55+ there will be problems - UsernameUnknown
Yeah, you may be right. It's just very tough to watch.
These kids are working there asses off and they are getting no results because of terrible defense. |

You remember Linus Omark? Terrible NHL player but had some nasty shoot out moves. |

Matthews and Nylander might be the best Leafs duo since Kadri-Komagod, Bozak-Kessel or Grabovski-Kulemin |

It's because he saw Holland, and thought "Hey, that looks like something I should do." |

Absolutely awful. Can someone call Shanny and tell him we have a replacement for Babs. Team Canada should also be phoned. |

I agree with this. Except that blowing leads badly in 4 of your first 5 games is really problematic. It's a thing in their heads surely, now. Not just their heads, but everyone they play knows it too. - fifty__missions
On the flip side: at least they've had a lead and held it, if only for portions of the games.
I just see kids being kids here: this is a team with like 7 rookies on it. Then you've got a few more young guys, followed by a handful of "seasoned vets" who've never actually done anything.
It's not like we have Toews and Weber anchoring the team: it's Kadri, Bozak, JVR, and Komarov, guys who've known nothing but losing their entire careers, followed by journeymen and over-agers who will struggle to get another contract in the NHL when there's expire. |

We're on pace for it.
But I meant game 55 and on in the season, if they still blow leads like this, some changes may need to happen. Highly unlikely. |

I'd rather they be leading most the game like they have and blow it then just getting flat out, out played all the time. It will come around, so far this season has gone pretty good imo. kinda funny actually. |

I don't get all the angst. This team was never meant to compete this year. In addition they have played almost every game on the road. Been competitive in every game. Out played the other team most of the games they played. Lead in most of the time they've been on the ice. So yea a bad string of blown leads but thay can be remedied over time. All the other signs are positive. 5 points in 5 games, 4 of them on the road. Rookies all excelling. I'll take it. Blown leads or not.
And for those questioning Babcock. |

I know. I'm a patient man. But I promised myself not to stay up late anymore for the later games. I'm sick of being sleep deprived and irritable in the mornings. It's one thing to see the score "5-4 OT L" when you wake up. It's another to watch in unravel, game in and game out |

The 3rd Chicago goal was a 2 on 4. There is no excuse about being a "kid" on that play. It's not like these guys are just learning the game now from scratch. That goal was inexcusable for any NHL team. |
