Absolutely. This was always going to be another rebuilding year with a poor finish in the standings. Although I'm 99% sure they pick up Fowler if the Cowen buyout goes through - walshyleafsfan
Agree and know we got to give to get but leave Nielson,Dermott, couple others alone |

Rielly/zaitsev, gardiner/Carrick, hunwick/polak.
I don't see what the issue is Babs. |

Also I don't know if I would want to sign Trouba to the kind of deal he's reportedly looking for. I'd continue to draft and develop and wait for a better option than him. |

Marincin grimacing as he leaves ice this morning. Still feeling it. No lineup changes expected with Corrado and Griffith the extras. - burn

Rielly leads with 11 block shots, who is second?
Hint, has played just one game and Has 7 block shots, most of them on the PK. |

Carrick and Gardiner pinch too much, can't have them together, Gardiner will never learn to pick his spots, Carrick is still just learning. |

I've noticed under Babs the D are much more aggressive that way, as a strategy. I like it, but yeah you need guys who can do it well. |

The wingers are still young, they haven't gotten use to covering, it's why you need to pick your spots and identify a winger is in place, Gardiner has no hockey IQ to figure that out. |

They played together a lot last year at the end and the first couple games this year and were fine. |

Carrick has surprised me, hes been pretty well rounded. I've noticed a couple iffy pinches, but for the most part his positioning has been solid. If it becomes an issue, he can be told to leave the pinching to jake, but im happy with his decision making.
I think zaitsev has to be paired with rielly, and the rest is an improvement on what's out there now. |

Oh yeah, Marner has six blocks? I love this kid.
I liked when Kadri got stung badly blocking a shot, was hobbling, and he went right for another block.

Marner is a little warrior.
Polak blocks mostly came on the PK but what was encouraging is that a few came when the wingers couldn't clear it and it went to the point, he was there to block the shot. One game but he looked really good.

No. I want more than Babs based on these pairings alone.
Id also have kadri with marner and JVR, and komarov/Bozak/brown on the third line.
See? Worth every penny. |

I don't mind Gardiner as much as some, I thought he got better under Babs. But they definitely need more D. |

I like Carrick a lot, he can figure things out on the fly but goes in deep a bit too much. I think he skates better than Gardiner, especially backwards. |

I don't trust him when he is out there, even 5on5 in the O zone, I see a bad pinch coming right away from him. On the PP, he is fine. |
