I have no issue with people who smoke weed but man does most of it smell like skunk.
- Reveen.

A couple of days ago I was driving to work and I got a big whiff of weed and thought to myself, God I love that smell. A couple of seconds later I drove past the skunk road kill.

I always try to be objective and will engage or counter what I believe to be closed minded arrogance. If I post something that turns out to be incorrect then I've been informed and appreciate being corrected. I like being open minded, I enjoy reading others points of view, you get to see people's personalities, humour and thought process.

I have noticed that there are posters that seem to have specific agendas when it comes to posting. There is absolutely no objectivity whatsoever, sure they will enter into conversations and usually have great input into those conversations. But they eventually revert back to their specific agenda.

I have noticed lately that I am becoming more aggravated by these closed minded posts and I feel that my responses are becoming more aggressive in nature. I don't believe that is appropriate because of my position as a mod, so I've decided to take a subbatical from engaging. I will probably continue to read Carols excellent blogs but that's about all.

I wish you guys well, and apologize for being a Richard.

- Makita

You've got to do what you think is right, but I think you're fine man. Being a mod is already an unpaid thankless position, it'd be a shame to let it prevent you from voicing your opinion as well. Look at Vantel and Lefty going at it the last couple of days. There's no hard feelings there. If you can't partake in the same kind of back and forth, why even bother logging in?

IMO the talent chosen over the past 10+ years seems to be more consistant with meeting expectations.

Alexander Ovechkin
Sidney Crosby
Patrick Kane
Steven Stamkos
John Tavares
Taylor Hall
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Nathan MacKinnon
Aaron Ekblad
Connor McDavid
Auston Matthews

Busts are becoming less regular. Kids are more prepared to enter the NHL right away. Scouting process has become more scientific. I just think landing a young superstar is much more likely these days.

Good post! You guys got a great piece last draft (elite )possibly if all indecation are correct, one more elite d or forward would do wonders for the team, but would love to see a Vancouver Winnipeg playoff, so it's hard to say ,I guess just play the best and let the chips fall ..but good luck with the rest of the way!

If you want a break I'll take over on an interim basis. I'll ban Mosquito but I'll be fair to everyone else

Funny how this past summer in here I mentioned how I would not be shocked to see an Oil/Van 1st rd matchup...and was mocked...

- LordHumungous

Was it a; "I've seen better heads on a beer", or "I fart in your general direction" type of mocking? Or did they go really low & throw a "do you even hockey bro?" Mock at you?

You should be able to engage and respond as you see fit. You shouldn't have to feel the need to censor yourself or restrain yourself due to your position. In the grand scheme of things you're a peace-maker on an inter web blog. So don't go anywhere or I will slag you until you are forced to respond and ban me.

For the most part things have been fairly civil as of late. Everyone is even shrugging off the trolls from the other forums.

I'm pig-headed, like most +50 people, but I'm not a mean person. I made peace with Vantel after yesterday's shouting match. I still sincerely like the old fella, I just don't agree with him....it's all good.

I think since Makita moved out east he has turned soft just like the NHL. He is a hippy now and has feelings. He needs to get his ass back out West where men are men.

If Makita does take a break we still have the other mod , wish I could remember his name. He will stay on top of things

The Kings should be an interesting matchup tonight, I wasn't buying into the notion they're a fast declining team but they've had their issues early in the season. I could be wrong or it could be just way to early in the season?

Last year at this point Montreal was 7-0 to start the year, so I don't put too much stock into things until probably the end of November. By then the heavy sediment starts to sink to the bottom and the cream starts rising to the top.

Old tough nuts , there's a pretty picture.

I use oil of Olay on mine to keep them supple and wrinkle free.
