I'm all for the Isles getting their own building, but who is putting up the money for a new building?

Have to think it starts with the new owners ......

It might be best for Barzal to go back. Maybe next year the Isles will have a new GM and coach and he can get a fair shot.
- ses111

Yep. That's the best we can hope for. These guys are (frank)ing toast and if they're not you better start looking for a new team to cheer for because I don't know about you but I'm just about done. It's borderline impossible for me to root for a team whose coach stymies any potential success it could have at any juncture. It's not being a Debbie downer or complainer it's hard to stomach this shat at this point. GM and coach are a (frank)ing joke.

Sounds like this is the only way it could improve:

@StapeNewsday
That's switching from plastic pipes
to steel. And that would require shutting down the arena for a summer. Almost zero chance of that.

So, not improving any time soon.

Which is exactly what I said last year and was ridiculed to death on here. The pipes are plastic and will never make the ice hard enough for NHL standards. Figure skaters prefer softer ice as when the use their picks the ice doesn't chip.
Once in a while I guess I'm right

To fix this you have to break the concrete floor and replace the pipes. That means shutting or closing BC for some time. You think they are going to do that?

It's the Isles or no other team for me. When the Isles are out of it hockey is done for me. It's not being a Debbie downer or complainer. It's not about Isles fans just liking to complain about something. These are real issues caused by the GM and coach. I would love to be able to have a solid coach and GM so we only have to worry about what happens on the ice and not the dopey decisions off the ice.

I honestly think theres no chance they shut the arena down. They're clearly a concert first arena, so I'd be shocked if they'd just shut it down for the summer. They have to find a way to get out of Barclays. We can say the players use it as excuses, but the reality is it's a serious problem, and somebody's going to get hurt at some point.

The Islanders have been my team since the beginning and will always root for them. That said I find myself almost rooting against them so we can get rid of this GM and Coach. Of course I don't and can't root against them and it my hope like many fans of this team that are really sick of the management and coaching of this team and are dying for a change.
I truely hopeful that L and M are watching, taking note and make the proper changes sooner rather then later

Especially when the Islanders can leave in a couple of years 44.
Have to think BC won't do that unless the Islanders guarantee they are staying for the duration of the 25 year lease. Even then I agree with you that it's hard to believe they would shut down the arena for this issue.

Here are some gem quotes

“In a rink like this where the ice is just awful, that helps,” Clutterbuck said.

Then, in a very matter-of-fact way, Clutterbuck called it “the worst ice I’ve ever seen in my nine years

- Upstate_isles[in the league].”

Barzal was scratched for the fourth time in the first five games, and Capuano said he wants to talk with general manager Garth Snow and find a time to get him some more game action. One of the things that is seemingly keeping him out of the lineup is his lack of versatility.

“Mathew can’t play the wing,” Capuano said flatly.

With Capuano’s preferred lineup down the middle of John Tavares, Brock Nelson, Strome and Casey Cizikas, that leaves Barzal on the outside looking in.

“I would like to get him in,” Capuano said, “I just have to figure out when.”

Well then teach him you idiot. It's your facking job.

Yep. It started somewhere around the same time Snow became GM. Never forget that day figured he'd be gone in a year but here we are.

Just be patient......a rebuild is a 5 year plan. Hang in there......

I wish someone could find that video or article where he said this.
