To not be claimed of course. But lvs isn't drafting a guy whose a rental for one year before UFA.

It looks like Murray is on IR not LTIR.....as far as I can tell. Crosby doesn't appear to be listed on IR.

Thanks for answering l, but I guess I have to take it as nobody knows. Murray is probably at least on regular IR. If he or Pouliot isn't on LTIR, maybe the Warsofsky recall isn't official yet. Pouliot sounds like he's going there though. Would be weird if Murray was on LTIR and nobody knew.

If the pens reup Shultz now they will have to protect him, but the cap hit will be/ should be lower... D men are expensive on the open market... I don't know what he and his agent are looking for but 3 years sounds great... Is there any update on letang for tonight?

That was the best I've seen him in quite some time. Ridiculously bad luck. He was making much better and quicker decisions.

could be cuz he played with määttä. having a partner you can trust and know how he plays kinda makes everything easier and could be why he cut loose a little.

If he's re-upped in season then we will have to protect him. I doubt he would sign in season without a guarantee he was being protected. Unless management really sours on maata we won't be able to protect him. If Schultz is good this year and locked up then lvs will claim him. 27-32 is sort of the prime for defenders and Schultz has upside to be a 3D in that time span. After Edmonton he will not want to risks going to lvs.

Wouldn't we have to protect him regardless if he reups or not? It doesn't matter when we resign him or not. I doubt LV would have interest in him if we signed him to a longer term before. There are more appealing guys I can think of right off the bat for them than Schultz.

Ya there are good defense options in draft. I see lvs having no interest in a defender with 1 year of team control. If Schultz has a good year this year and we resign him to Trevor Daley money (which I think we all hope Schultz can replace Daley next year so we don't have to resign an older defender) then I think lvs could have interest. If he signs at a reason 4 years $14 type deal (basically 4d money).

Could very well have better options but if Schultz develops into the 4d which his talent level says he can then lvs would be interested in him if he has term at a reasonable costs.

I don't think lvs is interested in a 1 year rental 4d if he doesn't have a contract.

Also Pens rolled out new forward lines for morning skate currently ongoing.

Wilson and Hornqvist showed some nice chemistry on Wilson's goal. Hope to get a chance to see them with Sid. They all play well in the dirty areas so that could be a strong line at grinding down the opposition with the ability to score. Great for strength on strength matchups.

No disagreement. Though if Schultz improved this year and looks like an offensive 2nd pairing dman then we might want to look at other free agent options to replace Daley.
