No real mention of Backes, but until the 3rd period goals, I thought he was the best Bruin on the ice. I know we weren't overly happy with the term of his contract, but he brings something that this team has been lacking over the last two missed playoff years. Leadership. Other than Z, Bergeron and Marchand to an extent, nobody was able to take the team on their shoulders and go to battle. Backes can and will do that on a nightly basis, regardless if he puts up points or not. I don't think it's a coincidence that the Bs have battled back in all 3 of their wins this season. I can't think of too many comebacks last year. Just saying....
