Martin is not going anywhere, michalek is on a 40P pace. Komarov... wtf is with that guy... his game is all energy, and he hasnt been playing that way... i wonder if he is nursing some sort of injury....

not expecting a lot of offense from him... but he isnt playing his role very well right now

- Dozzer

He laid some nice hits last night...especially that last one...I think the kid is still feeling it this morning.

I think everybody needs to relax a bit...they've played well, even the best teams in the league are giving up leads and losing games.

SO EVERYBODY GET OFF THE LEDGE

They really need Brian Campbell healthy. That bottom pair is Leaf levels.
- AdamFrench

Is Campbell hurt? I thought he was healthy scratched?

That drastically changes my pump n dump proposal

As much as I didn't care for the outcome last night, seeing Rielly with someone who wasn't Marincin was glorious. Never thought I would be happy to have Polak in the lineup

It's weird, most teams have a ton of LHD and solid RHD are hard to find. Seems like the Leafs have the opposite problem. Rielly is their only good LHD and plays the right side most of the time.

Hunwick and Marincin are trash, and I'm over Gardiner's schtick. The guy is just not hockey smart at all

- WingmanWillie

the only good thing about gardiner's game is he has a nice, hard, low shot from the point

other than that... he's a whole poop ton of "meh"

Complaining about the vets but the Matthews line is a little lost in their own end.

if michalek doesnt start producing he's gonna be put on waivers just you watch.... why showcase a guy for deadline bait if he isnt putting up numbers?

then again... he is on a 40P pace... if he can stay healthy and keep it up someone will snag him for secondary scoring going down the stretch if the leafs don't look for much of a return

- Dozzer

That's the catch with him. I tough he'd be out when the puck hit his hand last night.

Oh, yes I forgot about him. What is wrong with him?

Other than the stars. Kane, Panarnin, Toews, Kieth, Seebrook. The support it cast is very weak IMO.

One thing not being taken into account is the smaller goalie pads.

It's rather evident that it is making a difference. Not just with Leaf goalies either. They haven't settled in to the new sizing I don't think. Scoring is way up all around the league

He's a fourth line guy who's going to hit and have the odd scrap. He's came exactly as advertised.

He finishes hits. Maybe he channels my inner cherry but I miss guys who would finish every hit like he does. I'm not saying it helps the team but big hits have always been a big part of hockey and we don't see it often anymore. It's sad

- Santo_44

Martin hasn't had a single big hit all his hits combined don't equal one on Hunwick in game1.

If he had some of those it'd be different.

Not impressed.

yeah... give it at least 10-12 games before you start to make some big lineup changes... the goal isnt the playoffs... they will compete for it but no one is expecting them to get in... they have the time to waste a dozen games to let the guys gel a bit

What happened to the Hawks

Still a good team obviously but wow has that lineup ever depleted over the years.

I thought ALL our D played very similiar last night...not too bad, made some errors but mostly worked hard to correct them...meh, can't point your finger at 1 D if you don't point it all of them. IMO

Excellent. Pump 'n dump.

I'd guess he goes to the Blackhawks at the deadline (50% retained) for someone like Bryan Campbell, who is healthy scratched at around the same cap hit and a pick

- WingmanWillie

Is he a healthy scratch? JJ said he was nursing a hand injury or some crap (but you can't always trust him)

this isnt the time to start making big changes... its 4 games and these guys are still figuring each other out

if at game 10 we are seeing the same poop... thats when you start making the moves

martin is also a perfect candidate for expansion exposure... play him

- Dozzer

Honestly, other than the collapses and not being able to hold the lead I like the way this young team has played.

4 games with new linemates

patience burn patience.... his hits will become more timely as he and his linemates figure each other out

way too early to pass judgement on him yet... way way way too early

very typical of a young team

playing with a lead is far more difficult than trying to come from behind.

I'm not making drastic changes. I'm just saying we need to see Griffiths soon and those 3 guys would be my first choice to come out to give him a chance to see what we have.

He's on the 4th line...they are not the problem. IMO

I don't think there were many hits like Hunwick took...which is probably a good thing for the league...(frank)er almost got killed.

the lineup is already too young and doesnt have the experience to hold a lead.

let the current kids get their feet wet before adding more youth to the lineup
