Well we will disagree on this, Willie had success in other leagues, and he will adapt and have success in the NHL or he will be let go.

And I'm not so sure about your statement that it's not learnable, so you saying you have to be born with tactical abilities? You constantly criticize Willie's abilities, were you born with that ability?

Sorry Lefty, but this is a stupid comment. You are old and probably witnessed the Stanley cup run in 82 and 94....make the playoffs and anything can happen. Pittsburg won last year with a horrific defense and a rookie goaltender

Why is JV on the roster instead of in the AHL if he's not gonna be playing?

its a fact throughout history. Some are front line warriors, some supporting, and then some are generals. The generals have it and thats why theyre generals.

Ya I tend to see tactical play and strategies. It kind of leaps out at me. Back in the 90's it helped me get an unbeaten MMA record. It works using this against more skilled competitors.
We can look to the tyson / holyfield fights to see how a strategy wins fights. Or in MMA Severn / shamrock....submitted in 2.5 min letting severn do this game and come to the trap

or gracie in any fight he had

- SMBDragon

Actually it's not a fact and I'll disagree until the cows come home. Military leaders are educated and trained, the more competent are then singled out for further education and training...unless of course it's nepotism or someones BFF.

The only part of your statement I agree with is that some people have better comprehension and competency, but they are still educated and trained.

ESPN's Ultimate ranking results for the Canucks:
Overall: 116
Title track: 111
Ownership: 90
Coaching: 114
Players: 107
Fan relations: 106
Affordability: 121
Stadium experience: 115
Bang for the buck: 112

Change from last year: -3

All rankings are out of a total of 122 franchises.

The bolded 3 are my biggest beefs. Teams go through cycles of rebuilding which is fine, but no excuses why it cant be more affordable or better experience inside the rink

How so?

LA made the playoffs on the last day and won. SJ and Pitt were horrible for most of last year.

I am not saying that it happens every year but it does happen often enough. No I don't think Canucks will squeak in and win the cup, but the goal should be to make the playoffs.

I think Makita's point was that things can be learned. I think there are leadership qualities that can be learned, and to some people strategy/tactics come easier but all have to be learned from somewhere.

A more appropriate example would be chess. Its a game entirely of strategy, but no one is born able to play chess. You learn the game and moves and strategies, and the more you learn different variations of strategies the better you get at recognizing which one your opponent is implementing and how to counter it. That is why I think (and agree with) Makita, that WD and his team should be better prepared the next time they are in the playoffs as they should have learned a few things

Thanks your analogy was what I was trying to say but you did a much better job..

Only in Vancouver do the fans want to fire a coach that is 4-0

At least him lose a bloody game first. ( Not directed at you)

Like I said earlier, they find ways to complain about how they are winning. Apparently it's ok that they are winning but the product is not entertaining enough.

These wins have been super boring. our coach is super bad and our defense is boring. also, we lost a 5th and 2nd round pic from last year or the year before. I can't remember anymore

Luongo couldn't win a game in October. Canucks are 4-0 Trade Miller

Best start in history for the club , fire the coach

We have allowed 6 goals in 4 games , and outscored our opponents by 4 , this is boring hockey

Wow

So what? You need a decent D to win. How do you think Edmonton's 16GA in 5 games is going to work for them moving forward?

Lou was lit up for 4 muffins last night...back to the old beachball flop.

WD has been good so far. Only real Gaffe was Horvat with Burrows and Dorsett and it looks like we are past that hopefully.

WD has made some nice adjustments that have provided results.
