Guddy has an assist, plays tough. His athleticism is showing up in some of the more extreme plays... I think he's had a great start to the year, and the boys will kill retaliation penalties all YEAR if he stands up for himself and the team. What's not to like?

Sheesh, I am not sure about this observation. What has he done? Maybe its the way he is not a minus after 4 games, or that the penalty kill is running at 1 for 11. If you are looking for Bobby Orr, you won't find him... but I am pretty happy with his steady presence so far.

Jumping up thirteen spots is huge in one year. This is not a cup team this year but in three years I think they are in the mix. This is step one.

Benning is building a team . He is not selling the farm to get the top pick like others.

This is a well rounded team . The scoring will come over the next three years

Seen him throw some solid, noticeable hits already. Game 1 he made that amazing poke to prevent a clean break and didn't take a penalty

I never said I didn't like him? He's a good complimentary second pairing guy. He's playing ok. I like what he brings.

When the trade happened I was disappointed because I believe, and still do, they need to build with youth and build thru the middle. Gudbranson is only 24 and he brings an element the team needed.

Vantel, you are right. This is probably not a playoff team but I think it will be a year of growth... which is better than most teams that finished teams 30-20. I would love to get a #1 draft pick but would be very happy to know that the Cancuks never sold their soul to tank... unlike Edmonton and Toronto.... ok, Maybe Edmonton just sucked.

I have no idea what you're trying to convey in your first statement? I've said forever they need to build thru the draft and if Benning is given enough time he'll draft a winning team. But you never read that right.

Transition and development takes play off experience for the young guys to learn from and the older guys to show what to do in those situations so all part of the rebuild as they will still draft quality guys like BB

Is that not the way of a rebuilding team? We will be moving up 4 and 5 positions per year. We will not drop to 30th and suddenly up to 16 with a chance at 1.
