Part of it is I've lost faith in Ennis...I know it's contradictory to my own mantra of "it's just a few games into the season!!", but from what I found lackluster last year and then a poor preseason and looking bad this season, I'd just rather be rid/bury him.

awful secondary scoring despite you listing 3 players with goals (3 games into the season)? Not sure what the statistics are, but I wouldn't think "secondary scoring" should average much more than 1 per game (1.5 over the course of the year maybe?)

You need more from the complimentary players IMO.

Like I said, Risto, O'Reilly, Moulson were never going to keep this pace.

You need the 3rd and 4th line or 2nd pair to produce semi consistently to win games

first line, 2 goals even strength in 4 games

second line (foligno, larsson, gionta) 3 goals even strength in 4 games


the basket of deplorable lines combined 1 goal in 4 games 5 on 5


first line needs to step up 5 on 5 as well as the 3rd and 4th lines

Team morale sank after jack got hurt. It showed in that first game . Then Kanes injury was a do over. Took the team a bit to give their head a shake and start playing . Might have to give it another shake by next tuesday.

In 4 games we have 0 goals from the back end. 1 from Girgensons, Foligno, Baptitste.

That's awful secondary scoring.

Move Reinhart down a line. Make at least 2 lines a threat to score

I left out Moulson's on purpose, he's been playing top PP minutes and 2nd line most of the time. He's where Kane would be.

In general, if you know, what pace do the "bottom 6" produce across the NHL? Just curious to keep track of that throughout the season (too early now to say it'll be a complete downfall this season)

Scoring is still an issue with this team. Take out the Edmonton game and they've scored only 5 goals in 3 games (two of those were 1 goal scored).

BTW, only 11 teams have allowed fewer goals than Buffalo so far this season.

There's room for improvement in every facet of the game for this team. But I'm going to enjoy watching anyway. To hell with what the fancy "advanced" stats say. At the end of the day, the W column is what will matter. I don't care what way we get the W's, so long as we start getting more of them. I would imagine getting Jack and Kane back into the lineup at some point will help that as well.
