Kapanen is an upgrade over Matthais, Tanev, Armia, or Connor.......

WOW! That's a lot of money for a guy with a total of 13 NHL games under his belt. Yes he did very well during those 13 games, but that's a risky amount of money in my opinion. Anyone remember Jim Carey of the Caps? He started his career in a similar fashion (minus the cup) and was stellar in the playoffs. But his career fizzled not long after. Not saying that will be the case here but I think it is a bit premature for the Pens to sign that deal at this point.

Team is under the radar this year. Faster NYR team. Whole league will continue to write them off and that is fine.
- Anthony5967
.

They certainly are not under the radar as most pundits picked them to be a 4 or 5 seed this year. Not to worry though, it will be another cup-less year for the Ranjuhs as their cup window has been tightly closed.

Pavalec is better than what they got rolling now. Not good, but a bit of an improvement. Or maybe one of Peg's kids.

Put Gaborik and Quick on LTIR until they're healthy.

Trade Zatkoff for Bernier.

Put Greene in AHL, call up Gravel.

Send Purcell to AHL when Gaborik is healthy.

Send Budaj to AHL when Quick is healthy.

https://www.capfriendly.c...m/armchair-gm/team/208060

This lineup shows the Kings at only ~$250K over the cap, which can easily be accounted for by LTIR. If Purcell gets claimed on waivers (unlikely), then there's no need to even use LTIR.

I don't think you understand that burying veterans on one-ways in the AHL doesn't make their cap hit go away. So none of that is even relevant.

Also, Gaborik and Quick will have to come off LTIR at some point so that will then leave the Kings in a nearly impossible position. They'd be utterly screwed.

Pavalec. On re-entry doesnt WPG eat 1/2 the salary, or only if claimed and not in trade?

Re-entry waivers don't exist anymore but that was how they worked, yes.

Not sure WPG wants to do that (Greene has 2 years remaining @ $2.5) plus LAK still would need to clear ~500k to make that work. Hardly impossible, but still have to figure out how to get it done.

If they throw in some garbage it would work like their 3G or Seto. Basically a leftover trade. Kind of like most trades these days.

And good to have a 6-7 D once they trade Trouba....I guess?

Yeah, they're going to come with a REALLY tempting offer for the Pens in order to acquire Fleury? WTF Ek?

First of all, as said above, HOW are they going to fit him in unless they shed a bunch of salary?

Secondly, Fleury has term. Why the HELL would the Kings deal for him only to possibly lose him in the expansion draft.

Thirdly, if they don't lose him in the expansion draft, now they're holding FAR too much salary with two number 1 goaltenders in Fleury and Quick going into next season.

There was zero thought put into this pile of poop rumour and it clearly shows.

You want rumours? The Kings will be looking at Bishop or Miller, both who are Free Agents after this season. I have zero connections, but this is much more plausible than Fleury.

I'm hearing the Leafs will need to offer up at least Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Morgan Reilly for Trouba. They may need to sweeten the pot and include a Kessel type package of 2 first round picks and a second. The Jets are also asking for a defenceman like Jake Gardner. So, to get it done the Jets are being very reasonable. Trouba for Matthews, Marner, Nylander, 2 firsts and a second, Reilly, Gardner. If I'm the Leafs I'm all over that. As a Jets fan I say do it!!!

I do realize that. Click on the link. Greene and Purcell still count against the cap for $1.55M and $650k, respectively in the projection. However, neither of them are dressing for games right now, so replacing them with cheaper options from the AHL frees up about $350k of cap space each.

You are correct that Gaborik and Quick will have to come of LTIR eventually. However, every day that they are on LTIR and their contract is being replaced by a new contract, they get LTIR relief. That relief will easily add up to $266,458 considering that they will each be out for an extended period of time.

Only he really, really isn't. Connor will be a top 6 forward within the next year or two. Matthias is a great PK guy and a decent 3rd liner. Tanev and Armia are amazing on the forecheck. No two players on the Jets (other than Scheifele and Wheeler) are as dangerous when chasing down the puck.

What a stupid gif. It only works when A. The Ball goes into the net and B. The goalie did not make an acrobatic move.

This Gif gets an F.
