It's a Richard move, unless you happen to be Jay Feaster helping Col sign ROR. Then it's ok. Maybe Bowman slides Trouba an offer sheet.......Trouba signs.......Chevy matches. Done and done.
It's happened before.
Edit: reference to Trouba offer sheet

Kings are not going to take on Fleury's contract. They already have a #1 goalie locked up for a decade. They can't afford to spend $12M on goaltenders for the next three years.

If the Kings want a short term solution, trade Zatkoff for Bernier, straight up. Anaheim frees up an extra $3.5M of cap space to sign Lindholm. Kings get a goalie who has proven he can succeed in LA with a contract that expires at the end of the season. Works for both teams.

How has someone not signed Trouba or Lindholm to an offersheet?!
Especially Lindholm...
Ducks have less than .4mil in CapSpace
So even if they traded Fowler (4.0m cap hit), they'd still have to move another significant contract to have room for the 5.5mil + that Lindholm would presumably get
Not only would they have to move 2 significant contracts,
They couldn't really take any salary back
Anaheim is in a really rough spot & seems ripe to be taken advantage of

And you'd think Lindholm is just sitting there getting more p!ssed every day

Again fleury, maatta , and a pick for trouba, pavelic and a first

The team that gets Trouba will be sending a pick the other direction.

I wonder what the chances are that MAF has the Peg on his NT list? I think MAF can refuse 12 teams. MAF is not going to be easy to move when you consider his NTC and cap hit.

Malkin apparently wants to be "The Guy". Don't tell anybody, but you heard it here first.

Conventional wisdom and logic says you are right. Unfortunately, there are people who have neither, including the one that started this rumor. This isn't a match. Most people grasp this.

That was an oldie but goodie, just like three consecutive trade day deadlines, Ales Hemsky to Pitt (E4).

I bet he does. Winnipeg is like Edmonton. Not that appealing.

No chance, they don't have the cap space. If they are looking at anybody on the Pens it's Condon, Friedman mentioned this on Sportsnet tonight, most likely candidates are Condon and Berra. They would need cap relief to acquire Pavelec at this point, let alone Fleury.

I guarantee you he and his agent strategically sent a list of mostly cap teams or teams with goal tending depth. It's actually pretty easy to figure out who would be on the list. He's on record saying he has no desire to move.....and you don't get the feeling he's going to make it easy.

You realize the LAK passed on Condon and that was after the Quick injury, right?

Well, all you can do is hope Murray comes in; takes command of the situation and MAF sits on the bench as a backup. At that point, its either accept a trade to X or be the backup and not play too much. I agree with your line of thinking.

I just wonder if the Kings would take a look at Cam Ward 3.3 cap hit one more yr and 32 now - seems like a goalie that might thrive with Kings structure on D -

I think there was one last season. Can't remember who it was, though. But yeah, 99.9% never materialize.
