Ive been saying it. If I amJB im making the call we take half of millers salary and get one of their goalies back and kings give up a 1st. They have no chance at the playoffs if they dont get a goalie asap. Try to make the deal now while their hands are tied.

Yes next up is getting him to be okay going to Utica to actually play some hockey. I really want to see Tryamkin Subban pairing and Utica might be the only place it will happen.

I disagree he is exactly what this team needs, sure his contract sucks but he has led that team to a couple of cups. Can't argue with that fact

YOu are comparing rookies to players at the end of their careers? Why am I not surprised
- CanuckDon

Or maybe hamhuis was finally healthy at the end of the season and you are wrong about him .... be interesting I see if hamhuis could shut either of those two down since he's so old

Yeah I'm not arguing about the cups. But he has been declining the last cpl yrs and makes too much money for the production u get.

I do agree that we need a player similar, just not DB

LA has been trying to dump Brown and his contract for a couple years. They would need to sweeten the pot.

I think there's still 5 years left at way too high a cap hit for what he has left in the tank.

No thanks, unless they add a blue chip prospect or retain salary for the remaining years.

More likely deal would be something like Budaj and a 2nd rounder, with Vancouver eating half Miller's salary.

I'm confused, DD has only 17 minutes of icetime when the Canucks have been trailing, 3rd lowest on the team, only ahead of Virtanen and Skille who havent played all the games, and behind Burrows and Gaunce (that trio is about 10 minutes less icetime than the next group)?

As for the battling back issue: Last game the Canucks got burned after an excellent scoring chance, a miss hit shot from Hutton led to an odd man break and a good (but stoppable) shot from Tarasenko. And the first game of the season it was because of an own goal. I'm not sure what else WD could have done there?

- WhiteLie

LE said that he had no idea there was no goalie, he did not know of the delayed penalty in his interview. Why not try yelling that from the bench? WD isn't the one at fault, but there seemed to be no communication from the bench that would have helped LE. It does not matter how much ice time DD plays in those situations, it is when he plays. Less than 5 mins the bench should be shortened to 9 forwards, maybe 10 if we need to switch out a center. Which ever line is fresher between sedin/sutter/bo should be taking an offensive zone draw after an icing with around 4mins left. Even a PeeWee hockey coach could make that call correctly. Not trying to make fun of PeeWee hockey coaches with that statement.

I saw that to and my first though was "The league is going to give Matthews every opportunity no matter how low it is.

I think there are much better/more realistic options available.
one of Dallas goalies
that dude that got sent down in Winnipeg.
Ek reporting that MAF could be a target.

Miller ain't happening.

Agree they will look elsewhere to begin with ....not sure why Pitt is trading their only healthy goalie though

Well then, I truly believe you are wrong.

I read the posts, see how people make subjective judgments from watching a televised game, that only shows a small aspect of what's really happening on the ice.

Personally I believe that people are like lemmings, 1040 starts a rant about Willie and people swallow like a bunch of hookers in a blow job competition. Then come the armchair GM's and coaches to the different blogs to expound their vast amount of knowledge and experience on how this guy (WD) or that guy (JB) are useless. Did I mention all from the comfort of their chair.

Bloated just said Canuck fans aren't fickle, I disagree, after reading all the posts about WD being inept, screwing with players potential success, line match-ups, not knowing how to adjust, shouldn't be adjusting because fans don't agree with the adjustments, sitting players in the press box (again screwing with their confidence), giving Burrows an "A" as a leader, (only thing he ever lead was a controversy into reffing bias), playing the Sedins too many minutes, have I missed anything. Talk about a fickle group...

If Willie was useless, he wouldn't have the success he has attained, and he wouldn't be where he is today.

Has he made mistakes, absolutely, has he learned from his mistakes, certainly looks like it, but it could also be that he has an actual healthy team instead of 10-14 rookies to draw from.

For all his faults, we are 3-0 with the highest corsi for in the league. In the end, winning all 3 games and still not leading for any of them is not that stat that matters. Until we blunder and lose 10 in a row, Willie isn't going anywhere.
- Codes1087

the only way he gets canned after 10 loses is they already have a new coach lined up and ready to go. Perhaps the new assistants are doing a trial now to see how they affect the team?

That's only for sarcasm. I truly think WD is a useless coach and the team loses more because of him than they win thanks to him.
- Retinalz

whatever the reasoning for our early success (would suggest its 1 or more of the new assistant coaches) youre right we have a couple sagging bags of sh!t behind the bench and we'd be better off replacing that. Problem is you can win all you want during the season but come PO time when you need a strong HC that can tweak a game (100% necessary in PO's) period by period and turn it into a chess match then you see the coaches weaknesses. But then its too late, you lose.

BUt hey I'm happy we are winning games none the less.
