add this one to the list of things we can whinge about
via the provies:
Hamhuis logged 25:07 for the Stars tonight, a team high. Has two assists in three games, but he's too old for sure. - dbot
Botchford whines more than Tanbir. |

Well it's a nice place to be 3-0 but because of the doom and gloom projections plus WD head scratchers lol.... people still holding their breath wondering if this team is for real or waiting for the other shoe to drop...?
Well we got plenty of time for that don't we lol.... are there any praises or likes so far? I thinks someone said the historic wins not leading shows the Canucks have more conviction and ability to come back .. that's a new thing to like ... right ... what else..?
- Nuck4U
I'll bite, I like the fact that Willie isn't opposed to trying different players on different lines. I like the fact that the team has fought back in all three games, builds confidence. I like that Sbisa, and Dorsett are playing better than most thought. I like the Sedin's are still producing at 36. I like Larsens shot, just wish he'd hit the net.
I like to stir the pot and not be a swallower. - Makita
Cool those are interesting likes.... anyone else have other likes...? Again we can all bog down in dislikes but hey let's make some time to celebrate what we do like.... thoughts..? |

I remember he was our worst Dman for half of the season. He only played well when we were out of the playoff race. Good riddance.
Edit. No one was worse than Weber. - CanuckDon
Sven and bo also played their best hockey once the canucks were out of it ...good riddance to them too ?? |

Just over a mill in cap space ...prettty tough to take on millers cap - Redmile247
I expect Miller to play out his contract.
On the outside chance he does get moved, it'll be around the TDL, not at the start of the season.
Miller for Nichushkin and 1 year of Lehtonen.
edit. just looked at Dallas lineup (Damn you generalfanager).
Turns out they signed Hudler?
what a strange group of forwards they have...i don't hate em. |

I can't think of a specific situation where a person can call out vancouver sports fans as being fickle. Even Burkie’s call out many years ago was not the fault of the fan base as he laid it out. Dumb management moves pissed fans off and they turned their back because it’s the only way fans can get their message across.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned economics. If the product does not meet the expectations of the buyer then they will turn their attention to other, more satisfying products.
Because you are a fan doesn't mean you are stupid. Canuck owners have to earn our attention. Vancouver sports fans aren't sheep like so many fan bases are. - bloatedmosquito
Unfortunately I can quite clearly recall the booing at the '72 series and the rioting in the streets after the Stanley Cup loss. Maybe this is ancient history, but it certainly lingers, and is happily perpetuated in our media! By comparison, fans in Toronto (yeah, I know, "booooo") only stopped paying to see a poope team last season, despite more than a decade of futility.
I do agree that a lot of the behaviour is because of the price tag, and because Vancouver has so many amazing entertainment alternatives! |

Too tight. - Marwood
Groin wise .... but seriously if they do this they would have to move a big contract with a one or two sweet prospects and drafts if they are going for a solid proven goalie.... but don't see Nucks throwing the season away so early why sending Miller out ... unless it's the TDL where either we are out of it or Marky has shown ready for #1 and ready to be Demko adequate back up. |

Yeah I think Dallas is going to run with what they got and Miller stays in van most likely ...even a deadline deal would seem unlikely as if the Canucks are out of it then it will probably be due to poor goaltending making Miller have little value |

My scenario involves a Miller injury to start the season, resulting in poor record.
Miller comes back, stands on his head, demands a trade and Dallas is loaded with talent, but unable to keep the puck out of the back of the net.
But yes, Miller will stay in Vancouver. |

So you never know |

It's human nature, I've dedicated about 20+ years to coaching (soccer), and there's never love for the coach unless they're winning. - Makita

And yet through those coaching decisions they won the game, if you wish to call it luck doesn't matter, they won.
If the tables were reversed and they were up by that goal and they lost, there would be complaints. If they were up by a goal and won there would be praises for throwing out the checking line. There's no winning regardless of coaching decisions.
Again as several have stated, because of several factors involved in last year, give the guy an assessment period. Then when he sh!ts the bed you can be like " I told you so" - Makita
I thought Makita was going to give me his credentials now that he is going to have a hard time policing the thread, I can't say you would be my choice Don, but I wish you the best if luck. |

They could and im assuming when injuries hit they will be. Id like to see JV in Utica playing 20 minutes a night and not playing on the 4th line. |
