I think it's impossible to know how long a prospect should spend in the AHL until they get there. Lets see Juolevi dominate the OHL first before he even gets to the AHL.

I agree, lots of factors come into play to determine what best for a player. I am just basing my opinion on the trend that top picks rarely spend time in the AHL. Likewise even later round picks who ended up being top pairing (Weber, Subban) didnt spend more than a season in the AHL.

We got Juolevi and I am happy about that, its up to the club to develop him properly, but I think its fair as fans that more be expected from his development given his draft position

I can't believe he's lasted this long, particularly after letting Eriksson score on his own goal.

No kidding, I can't believe WD didn't yell at Eriksson so he knew we were going on the powerplay. How can a player possibly know they have the advantage unless a coach tells him?

Proof?
- Marwood

Of course I don't have proof.
It's an opinion.

I think the most damning part of the "proof" that penny supplied was that the story changed from Penny himself witnessing the exhibition games to a man in russia who signed off on the extra games. I can't remember which was the original version but it changed iirc.

There was also a team St. Louis or Washington? I can't remember who claimed they had approached the league prior to the draft and were told specifically that he was not eligible despite the extra games.

Who knows what actually occurred but there was enough at the time red flags for me to believe that it went down the way the canucks claim.

Obviously I'm stoked it happened.

As long as you don't the way you Burrows.
- Marwood

Ok i'll admit I like Burrows but my post yesterday was so called experts harping on everything...every (frank)ing thing as if they are experts.

Honestly I'm not sure why Burrows got the "A" other than that useless coach wanted to screw with HB posters

Like everyone hopes Boeser will be a "difference maker" and was a great late pick. Another top 5 in the next couple of years will go a long way for this future core.
- VanHockeyGuy

Boeser isn't a top 5 so that isn't a must for success but hey if they trade for it better then tanking for it

He's last part of leadership core from winning Cup contender that brings it every night.... a true Canuck to help the young forming core with transition
