Right now Lindholm has some serious negotiating power with Anaheim currently sitting with out a win. If this deal is coming to an extra $250k then they should cave now and eat it. If this is coming down to one less year of UFA contract then they need to hold out but how long before they hurt themselves too badly?

Once that is figured out they should pull the trigger on Fowler and I think Winnipeg would be the best option. They can take on the cap outright, they have the high end prospect wingers to offer and most importantly it would greatly benefit the Jets.

If Winnipeg trades young players for a LHD then they can trade Trouba for literally anything of high value. No need to pull a difficult deal and get a comparable LHD.

Its funny . Everybody but the ducks needs another dman . But nobody wants to trade for one . Shattenkirk, Fowler, Trouba . These are dmen that could make a good team a playoff team . And a playoff team a stanley cup contender. Its just ridiculous.

I red the ducks don't think moving fowler for picks/prospects helps this team

Eklund

Anaheim is in cap hell so most people know they are going to move Fowler.

So he in turn lists every team in the league as possible candidates to cover his bases.

He later claims he was first to break the trade.

Hope not. Didn't work so well the first time with Olli. That stupid (frank) turned his stick backwards for a faceoff.

Simply put, yes this is accurrate but in a cap world, they have very little negociating lever in the current cap situation and might have to go with a picks/prospects swap. Or a young forward on ELC. The more they wait, the worst it'll get; actually i don't see how it can get any worse than losing to the Devils...

It is going to be difficult for the ducks to get a good return for Fowler, without taking back money. Most teams that need him now don't have the space to trade for him without moving out another contract, and the teams that have the space are in no rush.

The expansion draft also throw a wrench into the ducks plans. Unless a team is just giving up B level prospects, I can't see team really making that big a push to trade a good prospect that is probably exempted from the draft, for a player that the team will need to protect at the expense of someone else, or expose and risk losing for nothing.

Ben Lovejoy and a nice firm handshake for Fowler. You know, one of those handshakes that just makes you feel good about yourself.

FWIW, i was told if the Cowen buyout goes through, Leafs will be trading for Fowler.

Don't know whether it's true or not,, but that's what i heard

- walshyleafsfan

I was hoping we might hear something about the Cowen buyout today, it was scheduled for today correct?

Depends on who you talk too . Im in the camp that we have one or two more years with getzlaf, perry, and kesler and win a cup . Some say more. Some say less . Right now I'd take the best deal that can be made . I don't care who it is . We have no elite foward prospects . Are goaltending prospects are really thin . But we are loaded on defense . So make the best deal to get the best foward prospect . Heck i was for trading lindholm for kucherov . So what ever brings that foward prosoect back I'd say do it .
Addendum. Heck i was for trading anything to one of the fin s at number 2 in the draft . But i was a little mad back then . So whatever
