I think the bigger blunder was reverse of the no goal call on Calgary. They didn't check it or give an explanation because they know the messed up. I still don't understand how this occurred and why Byslma seemed to take the explanation but maybe I'm missing something.

Reinhart has to stay on his feet in 3 on 3 situations. We know that refs are less likely to make calls in OT. They were all over us in that OT segment and deserved to reap rewards from that...can't expect calls, it goes your way as much as it doesn't if that makes sense.

He was pretty pissed off, but there was nothing he could do. I suppose he could've challenged for goalie interference, but that wouldn't have mattered, because a) it wasn't and b) the whistle wouldn't matter in that situation because they'd literally only be looking at goalie interference, they could see a 2 hander to the face and they couldn't call it because reasons.

The play looked way offside on the initial entry but then the puck left the zone, came back in and they eventually scored.

Yeah I must have missed it, I didn't see a red in the face coach behind the bench so I was instantly upset. I coach and it's plays like that where I can justify a bench minor.

Few things:

How does Larsson get called for that trip but when ROR gets tripped with 5 mins left and no penalty?

In OT that was absolutely a cross checking penalty. No if ands or buts about it, however Reinhart should have made a smarter play before that.

I expect a very p!ssed off Lehner after that weak 3rd goal. Not to mention he played the OT winner badly.

Can they get Baptiste a helmet that fits him the right way? Idk why but it really bothers me.

This team will stay around .500 until Eichel and Kane get back.

The gift goal off of the ref was still Foligno's fault. He shouldn't have been attempting to pass the puck to the front of the net. But man he is playing with a lot of effort. Hopefully this isn't where he ends up getting hurt like he has in the past...

Also broads...man get off the Armia thing. He was drafted as the next Selanne. Not a "stud take away guy". He had a solid game while not making the score sheet. Saying he is turning into a very good player is like saying Trent Edwards is a very good QB. In other words they both look decent to good at times but you know it's not what you need out of them if you want a real winning team.

Brad Marchand is a very good hockey player, Ryan O'Reilly is a very good hockey player. Joel Armia might just becoming a real NHL player but to say he is very good is wrong.

I like all of this, still thing Samson has to stay on his feet in 3 on 3, but I get the disagreement on that. Rest is spot on.

He's becoming pretty good. He's developed the 2 way game no one thought he had, while still having the talent that got him picked in the top 15. Like I said, you don't have to take my word for it. Other people watching him are saying it

Also, Marchand is a horrible example. He had 1 single point in his first 20 NHL games at the same age as Armia was last year, and then developed into a nice player.

NHL development is about experience in the league, not age

It lasted for one period. They gave that extra ice time to Bogo and then it was like "noooooope"

My guess is he is trying to spread the defensive liability amongst all 3 pairings, and have a closer TOI for all groups. Not saying it is a good idea, just my hunch.

Probably. Can't wait until round 2 of the epic McDavid vs Gorges. Probably the best rivalry in the NHL

I wouldn't call getting cross checked from behind into the boards getting "bumped off the puck." Most players in the league will get "bumped off the puck" in that situation.
- JetpackJesus

Agreed, that could happen to anyone, and I was upset about what I saw, and I thought it was a blatant penalty at first. But, calming down and looking at it objectively, I think Reinhart needs to be better at protecting the puck in that sort of situation, it wasn't a completely outrageous crosscheck, but it could have been called. In the future I hope Reinhart uses what happened last night as a learning experience and gets tougher when he has the puck, we'll need him to be a puck control guy in the future.

So do I. He had the upper hand during that scrum. He had Gorges bent over. Draw your own innuendo.

Hey hey hey, Gorgio was just letting him get the sense he had the upper hand. If gloves dropped, he would have went full hulk mode. "Gorges SMASH!"
