As was said, hopefully it's a learning experience and not a confidence drainer. He's a 19-year-old defenseman, so I'm going to expect some mistakes. That said, his overall game to date (only 3 games) has been, to me, uninspiring. I don't expect him to do the razzle dazzle that Ghost did, but I did expect a bit more pop from him. He's made some nice reads offensively, but overall, has struggled on both sides of the puck at times.

Well, I'm getting what I wished for in that he and Kony are in the lineup. That said, I knew there'd be growing pains, and it might last all year. As long as he improves and learns that's fine. I sometimes forget that D is prob the hardest position in the league to step into as a rookie. He has to go through the meat grinder and stay positive. He hasn't popped to me either, but none of us should be surprised.

Being home and having Schenn back should give the boys a boost. My lord the D was BAD last night. Like REALLY bad. God AWFUL really. Never thought I'd miss Gudas...and how's Del Zottos injury? Poor Provy, hopefully he shakes it off...

I'm told all 19 year old athletes learn best under these conditions, so there should be no problem.

Good thing a patsy like the Ducks are arriving for the home opener. All they've done on this East Coast trip is LOSE!

The defense as a whole was just bad last night. The gaps seemed too big and just didn't have a good night.

But only 3 games in. I like most of what I see and I am sure things will get fixed.

Also think the Flyers missed a little of the swagger Cousins brings. Loved the speed Lyubinov brings.

Still hate Vandevelde.

Are we sure Giroux didn't tell him that he would kill him if he did that again?

The VDV fan club is losing members at an alarming rate.

It is pretty much a certainty that he said "(frank) you, Provy"

The unfortunate part is that Hakstol is the president, CEO, and treasurer of that club

I think the idea with Vandevelde is that his resting smile face will lull others into a false sense of peace.

VDV helps to differentiate between Chris Vandevelde and Claude Vilgrain.

Meh

We wanted the 19 year old kids and we are going to have to deal with some growing pains.

personally, I want Provy to keep trying to grab the puck and skate with it. Even if he fell, I don't mind him trying to make that play again.

If Read scores 20 goals, does Hexy protect him in the expansion draft?

I know its really so very early yet.. small sample size etc... But it sure seems like scoring is up across the league so far. There have been a lot of high scoring games.

I wonder if there are any numbers out there, comparing scoring in this season so far with years past.

If Read wasn't already 30, I'd say there was a chance.
