If the injury is long-term I think they would bring in a guy like Ramo or Lindback over Bachman.

Even trading for Pavelec would be an option.


If you are talking about beyond this season there are lots of UFA goalies who could serve as backup to Markstrom or even 1B if he can't handle the load.

I just don't know. I think if you look at JB's moves in the last three years as a body of work, it's actually unlikely. He seems more inclined to want to drive things from within as a motivator for the minors system. More importantly, I think he's trying to hoard some cap space to pounce on something...a waiver-wire pickup, salary-dump trade...whatever.

Which, while good for development, could also provide some underwhelming goaltending. I could be wrong though. And hopefully Miller's back quick.

Demko looks like he is going to be a great goalie but it won't be anytime soon. They are already throwing him to wolves as the backup in Utica. From what I've seen and read Garteig was the better of the two, which isn't surprising considering he is 4 years older.

If we are talking about 1 or 2 games sure bring him or Bachman up but the original poster seemed to inferring a longer absence.
