This may be a controversial post, but if I was Hakstol, when Gudas suspension is up, I might think about scratching him for a couple more games.
- MJL

If still playing well I would do it.

As much as I love his game he can't keep putting the team and bad spots.

I think this is something to consider if everyone on the blue line is playing really, really well.

Otherwise, I think either AMac or Mandog are getting shipped up to the Cote suite.

Also, I'm loving how the Blue Jays couldn't even win in what ended up being a bullpen start from Cleveland. And it also reminds me how much I love hockey players. Get a little blood on the ball, you don't use your pinkie and much as your other fingers to grip the ball.

Crazy they may very well sweep the BJs missing 2 of their top 3 pitchers

Hossa is a goal shy of 500. Hmm, playing the Flyers tonight, that means he gets it.

I hate to agree with you, but based off of past precedence, you're probably right. I've seen way too many milestones against the Flyers to think otherwise

I'd cheer for it assuming we still win the game.

also just out of curiosity...based off Ek saying Kings could have interest in Mason, If he was moved what would you want back from LA. High picks, multiple picks or young player?
- J35Bacher

Mike Richards and Jeff Carter

Honestly, the Kings don't have a lot in futures to get excited about. Adrian Kempe hasn't done much at the pro level. Jack Campbell, who I really liked, has had trouble staying out of the AHL. I don't think they'll move roster players, as they want to win now. I don't think a late 1st is enough to pry Mason away. I just don't see a fit unless they lose their mind. The only conceivable thing I can think of would be Tanner Pearson and a 1st, which I don't think either side would like.

Probably the only way I would do it.

they would have to take MacDonald with Mason and we get Muzzin back and maybe something else to make the money work?

- J35Bacher

Why don't we get them to throw in Kopitar while we're at it!

As much as I've ragged on Schultz and Manning, I'd be okay with this, assuming they're all still playing well.

Yeah I don't see the fit either. And they only have about 1.5mil in cap space I believe so money would have to be moved out.

It's hard to find a fit with them. I wouldn't mind getting Muzzin back in a deal for Mason but if they are that desperate for a goalie is that enough? Would LA move Muzzin? Just hard to find a fit them. (I say Mussin because money is about same and I could see Muzzin being a guy you pair with Provorov for the now and future.)

Working for the Colored Knights

cap friendly is superior anyway

also...apparently you just need to create a well received hockey website in order to get a job with an NHL team....I have no doubts that Eklund's time is coming

Hakstol has a history of sticking with what is winning, regardless of the reason why. I would let ovechkin shoot vandevelde out of the lineup and since hes so good at it, schultz can get hit by vandevelde, launching them both out of the lineup

Funny thing is Schultz seemed to make such an unschultz play trying to throw that hit which caused the 2 on 1 in AZ.

I read an article of heard an interview that Haks planned to switch the line up for game 2 but was impressed with our efforts against the Kings that he stuck with it. Makes you wonder, if we lose game 1 is Lyubimov dressed right now?

Jake Muzzin isn't going anywhere. You'd have to deal one of the core guys (Giroux, Jake, Simmonds, Ghost, Coots, AMac) along with Mason to even have LA consider it.

I could see LA trying to get Pavelec from WPG. Probably wouldn't cost as much.

Such a fine line in the NHL. Defenseman get ripped on, if they play a rush positionally, and contain. It's a judgment call. Step up aggressively and breaking up plays is great, if it works. If the puck gets by you, and there's no support, you're in trouble. Sometimes it's the right play, but the structure breaks down behind the defenseman. Tough situation.
